'Sherman Is Legendary': Chris Meloni Documents Adventures of His Wife in London Leaving Fans Stunned
Sherman Williams was all smiles in a recent Instagram post documenting her and her husband's travels in England. But it was the "Law & Order" actor's funny caption that left fans aspiring to be like Williams when they grow up.
Williams and Meloni proved they have been enjoying their European adventure after Meloni shared a picture of his wife with a beaming smile while in a taxi in the streets of London. However, it was the humorous caption referring to the different sides of the road that American and British people drive on that stole the show: "They kept driving on the wrong side of the road, so I took over."
"When I grow up, I wanna be Sherman (sic)," one fan commented. "Sorry Chris, that's just how we do over here," another fan jokingly shared, adding, "@sherman.meloni is a mood tho (sic)." A third fan shared the same sentiment, typing, "Sherman is iconic, and I stan. But as a Brit, I sadly have to disagree with it being the wrong side." "...Sherman is legendary. Queen. Icon," a fourth fan wrote.
Williams and Meloni met in 1989 when she was in her 20s and working as a production designer on the set of an HBO show wherein Meloni had a small role. Meloni admitted to finding Williams "cool, funny (and) sexy," but the future couple did not start dating until after their paths crossed a few more times.
The actor admitted that their first date saw them stop at three parties, and after four years, they tied the knot on July 1, 1995, during a medieval-themed ceremony on a beach in Malibu, California. They later welcomed two children, a daughter Sophia and a son Dante. "I always knew I wanted kids, as did my wife. My mother always used to say to me, 'I've learned so much from you kids,' and I didn't get it. Now I get it," Meloni said.
Before becoming a family of four, Meloni and Williams were in a long-distance relationship. Although she preferred the West Coast, Sherman Williams relocated to New York City and put her skills as a production designer, painter, and director to the test when she created a home for her family.
It's been nearly 30 years since Chris Meloni and his wife said "I do," and he revealed that the secret to their long and happy marriage has been her patience. "We're doing good. It's her patience with me, and I really mean that. She's allowed me to grow at my speed because she's always been more mature and more level-headed in many ways," the "Law & Order" star shared.
