David Choe was born in Los Angeles on April 21, 1976, to Korean-born parents, and he showed his passion and talent for art early as a teenage graffiti artist.

Choe became a respected and sought-after artist, and in 2005 he was asked to paint murals on the walls of Facebook's first offices in Palo Alto, California. Offered a choice between cash payment and shares, Choe took the shares.

In a 2014 podcast with adult film actress Asa Akira, Choe spoke boastfully of having forced a masseuse to have sex.

In 2012, the Facebook shares held by Choe were estimated to be worth around $200 million, and the artist has revealed that he wants to be a billionaire.

But before his Facebook payoff, Choe had already made his first million gambling in Las Vegas and selling his art highly-valued worldwide.

The artist confessed that his out-of-control and extreme lifestyle threatened to imprison him or make him a wealthy and successful man.

In 2021, in "The Choe Show," he married his art to a reality series in which he painted portraits of his guests and shared his empathic but often eccentric views with his audience.

Choe guested on "The Mandalorian" in 2019, co-starring with Pedro Pascal and Giancarlo Esposito, and was part of the cast of the 2023 series, "Beef," with Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. But despite his foray into acting, Choe still has yet to find his leading lady.

On April 4, 2023, Choe opened up to comedian and talk show host Joe Rogan on "Joe Rogan Experiment," where he spoke openly about his sex life and promiscuous lifestyle.

He explained that as a young man, he'd had several committed relationships but had never had a one-night stand. Overnight, Choe changed his behavior. He said:

"Not to sound vulgar or to objectify women, but that's what I did at that age."

Choe, who admitted to having sex with several women in one day, confessed that he is now in a new phase of his life and is looking for love and spiritual fulfillment.

In a 2014 podcast with adult film actress Asa Akira, Choe spoke boastfully of having forced a masseuse to have sex with him. The revelation didn't go down well, and the public was outraged.

Akira asked him if he had forced the woman, and Choe said he had. He even admitted that part of the excitement was imagining he might go to jail.

Choe later recanted, saying he'd made up the whole story as a piece of performance art, but many were unconvinced. He said:

"If I am guilty of anything, it's bad storytelling."

The artist's recent prominence on Netflix has brought the old story back to life. Choe has once again assured the public that it was a performance meant as a joke, but it seems that no one is laughing.
