They are also known for their work in the action film "Spectre" (2015), the musical film "Pitch Perfect 2" (2015), and the musical comedy movie "Sing" (2016).
The London native was born Samuel Fredrick Smith and is well-known for their powerful multi-octave voice with a strong falsetto.
The Contemporary R&B singer is the third cousin of singer-songwriter Lilly Allen and English actor Alfie Allen. In September 2019, they announced that they were non-binary.
Is Sam Smith Married?
The question of whether Sam Smith is married has come up. In 2018, reports alleged they were set to walk down the aisle with their then-boyfriend, Brandon Flynn.
The pair had gone public with their newfound romance in December 2017. A source claimed the "Stay With Me" hitmaker and the "13 Reasons Why" star planned on getting hitched in Australia only weeks after same-sex marriage was legalized. However, the couple was not engaged at the time.
An insider revealed, "Sam thinks it's the perfect place to get married." Meanwhile, Smith had spoken candidly about their love life then, talking about their relationship with Flynn, and admitted for the first time that they believed they "deserved" happiness.
The pop singer has been lowkey about their love life over the years and has been romantically linked to Andy Newton Lee, Charlie King, Francois Rocci, Jay Camilleri, and Jonathan Zeizel.

Sam Smith Seems to Be in a New Relationship
There are speculations that Sam Smith might be romantically involved with New York-based designer Christian Cowan – whose glamorous apparel has appeared on A-listers including Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez. Another designer who has had music stars dress up in her clothing is the late Ola Hudson.
The duo was photographed walking arm-in-arm as Smith kissed Cowan on his head in January 2023. Per reports, Cowan was described as the "Fire on Fire" singer's "buddy."

Cowan was said to have accompanied Smith to get a tattoo at the time. A tattoo artist shared an image of the award-winning singer with Cowan and some friends online.
The artist penned he was stunned to receive an email stating Smith would be stopping by to get inked at his establishment and believed it was a "hoax."
Before getting a tattoo, Smith and Cowan had been photographed together at the White House in December 2022. It remains unclear when they first met. As for Smith, they once said:
"I've only had three boyfriends."
When speaking about their love life in October 2020, they said, "I've never played by the rule book, I love people and whoever I fall for, that's who I fall for. I don't know who that's going to be."
Sam Smith Got Married in One of Their Music Videos
Sam Smith's music is mostly about love, and they got married in one of their music videos. Set in a church, their "Lay Me Down" music video from 2015 shows them singing in front of a casket at a candlelit funeral.
Afterward, the video moved from the sad scene to a joyful white wedding where the guests cheered while applauding. The grooms held hands while blushing at the altar.
Smith later explained the significance of the song and the vision behind the music video on social media. They said the song meant a lot to them, adding that they and the director, Ryan Hope, both "decided to make a statement" with the music video to show what they are passionate about.
Smith further highlighted that they hope that someday, gay men and women and transgender men and women will be able to exchange wedding vows wherever in the world, much like "9-1-1: Lone Star" actor Brian Michael Smith who is now happily married.
