Smith spoke about her career, saying not only did "Charlie's Angels" give her the opportunity to live a good life, but it also brought her friends that lasted a lifetime. She reminisced about the filming and the format of the show and noted that it truly was a series that catered to almost everyone.

Smith feels lucky to have been a part of something that left such a significant mark on popular culture and offered her the chance to do so many exciting and fulfilling things with her life. When "Charlie's Angels" came to an end, the actress had the financial stability to take her life into her own hands.

Smith was the proudest grandmother, and her son and daughter-in-law decided to name their youngest after her beaming granny.

But Smith's life hasn't always been without challenges. In 2002, the actress had to face one of the biggest hurdles so far when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Smith recalled that the news dazed her and her entire family. At the time, she was worried she wouldn't be able to see her kids grow up.

Luckily, Smith caught the cancer in time, and she was able to beat the disease, but it left a lasting scar on the family. These days, the actress isn't taking her time with her children and grandchildren for granted, and she gushed that being a grandma is "the best thing in [her] life."

On April 25, 2023, Jaclyn welcomed another little one to her expanding brood. To celebrate the birth of her third grandchild, Smith shared a video montage of images of the family before and after the birth. The video started with her son, Gaston Richmond, and his wife, Bonnie Lane, sleeping in the hospital with their hands intertwined.

In 1996, Smith met a dashing doctor, Brad Allen, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas.

The video then showed images of Richmond seeing his little daughter for the very first time, gingerly clutching the newborn with a transfixed look on his face. More photos of Richmond and Lane followed as they held their newest family member. The entire thing was set to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

How Jaclyn Smith Created a Strong Family

Smith shares her two children, Gaston and Spencer Margaret Richmond, with her third husband, Tony Richmond. The two married in 1981 and welcomed their son a year later. In 1985, they had their daughter, and four years later, in 1989, the couple divorced. Smith raised her two kids alone for eight years before meeting her current husband.

Smith has also found that her marriage to Allen is as much a gift as her little ones.

In 1996, Smith met a dashing doctor, Brad Allen, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. The two dated for a year and eventually tied the knot in 1997. They've been happily married ever since, and Smith confessed that Allen makes for an excellent stepdad. The surgeon never had kids of his own.

Smith and her daughter also have a special bond and often appear in public together. The youngest of the two Richmond children definitely took after her mother looks-wise, and the mother-daughter duo modeled Smith's Kmart fashion collection together in 2015. Smith commented on raising her kids:

"When you have your own children, you're doing the nitty-gritty and you're doing the homework and you want to do it all just right. But you get to a place in life where you realize that these moments are treasures, and that's what it's all about."

In February, Smith posted an image to Instagram for their anniversary, writing, "Here I am with my Valentine on my 25th wedding anniversary."

The image showed the actress and her beloved husband clutching each other as Smith planted a kiss on Allen's cheek. In 2022, she wrote to Allen on their anniversary, "Happy 25th anniversary to my guy, my best friend, my partner in life ... even my honeybun."
