Katherine Heigl’s Daughter Adalaide Makes Public Appearance with Dad to Help Raise Money for Kids in Need
Adalaide Marie Hope Kelley recently joined her famous dad on a "Daddy-daughter day" that saw the duo give back to a good cause. After tying the knot, Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley welcomed Adalaide and her sister via adoption before completing their family with their son.
In a recent Instagram post, Adalaide and her famous father traveled in style ahead of the singer's private show in Memphis for a charity event. As they posed for the camera, Adalaide opted for a comfortable outfit for the plane ride and paired a red hoodie with black pants while her dad gripped a guitar case.
"Daddy-daughter day !! Off to a private show in Memphis for @fedexfamilyhousegala !! This duo is off to raise money for children in need - let's go," Josh captioned the post. In a different post, Josh shared a video that captured him and his daughter taking in the sights on what he said was a trip that left him and Adalaide without words. "So thankful to have been a part of this event," Josh revealed.
Adalaide and her dad had flown to Memphis to attend the FedExFamilyHouse Gala. The gala raises operational funds for FedExFamilyHouse, which supports patients and their families who travel nationwide and internationally to Memphis to seek treatment at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. "The @fedexfamilyhousegala was one of the most special things I have been a part of, and the work these folks are doing is pure magic," Josh raved about the gala, which raised over $1.2 million.
Aside from having a successful career as a musician and raising money for a good cause, Josh is also a father of three. After adopting their eldest daughter, Nancy Leigh Kelley, from South Korea in 2009, Adalaide's parents later welcomed her into their family via domestic adoption. And as a mom of two girls, Adalaide's mother revealed she wanted to raise her daughters not to worry about always pleasing other people.
"I do think there is this under-the-radar, unsaid, collectively understood vibe that women are meant to be 'pleasing.' I see it in my young daughters... I'm certainly not teaching them to be like that, but they're picking it up somewhere—there's a definite message of "please everyone, except yourself," Katherine said.
The Kelley/Heigl family grew once more after the actress and her husband welcomed a son. And after a brief moment of wanting another child, Katherine Heigl humorously revealed that the pandemic made her realize she was content with her three kids.
