Tobe Nwigwe's Wife Fat Nwigwe Gave Birth to the Rapper's Four Kids
Tobe Nwigwe's wife, Fat Nwigwe, has long been integral to the artist's life. The two are not only partners in business, but they also lead together in love, music, and family. Fat and Tobe have made their joint endeavors a family affair, with their kids sharing in the spotlight.
Tobe Nwigwe has been hailed for his unique hip-hop sound, but the rapper has transcended beyond just making music. The multi-talented artist also has credits in costume designing and directing. His music has been featured in several productions, including "The Obituary of Tunde Johnson" and the 2021 sports series "Swagger."
Tobe is chiefly recognized for his 2021 music video for "Fye Fye," featuring his life partner Fat Nwigwe, a production that earned them an NAACP nomination. And while the song's visuals received their nod, it still won the Image Award for Outstanding Hip-Hop/Rap Song.
"Fye Fye" also saw Tobe and Fat winning the Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration award at the ceremony, but the couple excels at more than just entertainment. Last December, they marked their fifth wedding anniversary and recently welcomed the latest addition to their family.
Tobe Nwigwe Is Rarely Apart from His Wife
In a January 11 Instagram update, Tobe wrote, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE GREATEST GIFT OF MY LIFE @TOBECALLSMEFAT. every swipe is a different aspect of your greatness from my lens (sic)." The rapper penned the heartwarming caption alongside a long thread of videos and photos starring his wife.
Looking at his IG profile, it appears he and Fat rarely leave each other's presence. About a week before their fifth anniversary, the couple shared the stage in South Africa with their kids. They also performed in Senegal at a fashion show that same month and returned to the US for an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."
The duo, who also appeared on "Sway in the Morning" this January, have been married since December 2017. Fat documented how significant marrying Tobe was for her in several posts. In one, she reflected, "My story is nowhere near a Disney movie... but it is a real life #blackgirl fairytale."
The mom of four said she had "no regrets" from her wedding day, as she raved about the floral arrangements, done by a black-owned business, and her makeup. More details from the special day were chronicled in a serial production she and Tobe called "A Forever Twisted Love Story."
Tobe and Fat Nwigwe Created Instagram Profiles for Their Kids
Their eldest daughters are Ivory and Sage Nwigwe. Ivory and Sage have grown familiar with the limelight, as they frequently perform with their parents, accompanying them on tours and gigs worldwide. They each have an IG profile, and the only post on both accounts is a photo with the graphic, "Ain't no pics (sic)."
Tobe once tagged the girls' profiles when he promoted merchandise from his first Coachella performance. He and Fat have a younger son; however, the little one hasn't been in public as frequently as his older sisters. Still, he can be seen in some IG posts, such as Tobe and Fat's gender reveal video from last November.
The Couple Recently Revealed Their Newborn 4th Child
This year in February, Tobe and Fat were Grammy nominees for Best New Artist, and they attended the prestigious event in style. Fat donned a knitted mint green ensemble that exposed her baby bump, sporting matching braids and grills. Two months later, she welcomed Chikodili Ejikemeuwa Nwigwe, aka Chiko.
The singer was back onstage 14 days after giving birth. Tobe broke down the meaning of Chiko's names, which have spiritual significance — the same as Harper Seven Beckham and Sage Florence Galafassi — and revealed his son had arrived on April 7, 2023. Kevin Hart, also a father of four, congratulated the artist in the comments.
