How Did Beverly D’Angelo Meet Al Pacino?
In the same Instagram post, D'Angelo revealed that she met Pacino on an airplane while traveling from Los Angeles to New York. At that time, the actress was still married to her ex, Lorenzo Salviati.
D'Angelo shared a unique relationship with Salviati, where they were allowed to "have their own fun" but always had each other's backs. While sitting in the same aircraft with Pacino, D'Angelo had no idea she would exit the plane with feelings for him in her heart.
"He was seated in front of me," D'Angelo recalled while explaining that she sat with him after he invited her there. They enjoyed each other's company during the flight and became friends before they knew it.

The couple began spending time together, and soon, the "The Godfather" star confessed his feelings. He told D'Angelo he wanted her to be "the mother of [his] children," but the actress had never thought about becoming a mother.
She revealed she had "avoided" becoming a mother, but with Pacino, she was ready to do everything. However, there was still something she needed to do. The actress had to talk to her husband about her love for Pacino.

In another interview, D'Angelo recalled how she told her ex-husband about Pacino. They were talking on the phone when she confessed to being in love with an actor. "I really love him, and we're talking about having kids," she told her then-husband.

What's the Secret to Beverly D'Angelo's Strong Bond with Her Ex-partner?
In her Instagram post, D'Angelo shared that she started the IVF process in 1997 but didn't become a mother until 2001. She welcomed her twins, Anton and Olivia, at 49 with Pacino.
However, the couple couldn't stay together for long after having children. The actress parted ways with her husband but gave him credit for improving her life by "making her a mother."
Since the couple loved their kids dearly, they weren't ready to lose custody after the split. It took them a long time to realize that becoming friends was the only way to raise their children together.
D'Angelo and Pacino soon stopped fighting for custody and began "co-parenting" their children. The "Scent of a Woman" actor confessed in an interview that he always wanted a big family. His wish came true, and he now feels happy to have three children.

However, rumors about his parenting surfaced after he split with the mother of his children. It was said that he had "never changed a single diaper" of his children, but Olivia now calls him her best friend. She expressed her feelings in a heartfelt birthday wish from 2021:
"Happy 81st to not only my inspiration but my best friend and the best father I could ever ask for. I love you."
