Mia Farrow Looks ‘Too Young to Be a Grandma’ at 78 Cradling Adorable Grandchild in Photo
Mia Farrow recently gave another glimpse of what it was like being a grandmother. Enjoying some of her time out of the spotlight in recent years, the actress resigned to her farmhouse while doting on her family.
In an Instagram post, "The Great Gatsby" star proudly cradles her grandson in a recent snap she captioned: "Sawyer and me. Best of days."
The actress flashed a smile with the tot in her arms dressed in a green outfit. Sawyer joined the family with a head full of hair in December 2022.
Fans shared an outpour of support, as one wrote, "Beautiful, you look too young to be a grandma ❤️." Another added: "Being a grandma is like Heaven. Enjoy!" Another one said: "Proud grandma."
On the same day, she followed up the photo with a picture of her other grandchild, Maureen. The little girl donned a pink dress with a pin on the chest.
Being a grandmother taught Farrow a different perspective on life. In another post, she said, "Grandkids remind me to really look at and appreciate things we grownups often take for granted in our daily lives."
As of 2021, the "Peyton Place" star boasts with 16 grandchildren from her 14 kids, three of whom she lost in different circumstances.
Farrow previously made a public appearance at the Time100 Gala and turned heads in a shimmering velvet dress. The activist was joined by her son, Ronan Farrow, who looked handsome in a tailored golden suit.
A legend in the entertainment industry herself, Farrow still had to pause upon seeing actor Austin Butler at the event and gushed about his "Elvis" performance, which "knocked [her] socks off."
When not busy with her acting duties, she preferred staying at her Connecticut farmhouse with her family. A nearby pond and tall trees surrounded her property, situated away from the neighbors.
Her red-painted abode has a porch with a homey "Welcome" sign by the entrance door. A fireplace dominated one wall across a comfy couch, while a glass window faced her dining table on the side.
While she still dabbled in acting, Farrow pursued her humanitarian and philanthropic projects. Appointed as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2000, she advocates for children's rights, especially those affected by armed conflict, according to the organization's website. Farrow currently stars as Pearl in Netflix's "The Watcher."
