Ariana Cooper Is Deryck Whibley's Wife & the Love of His Life
Ariana Cooper holds a special place in Deryck Whibley's heart as his wife and the love of his life. After his painful divorce from Avril Lavigne, he never felt he would marry again.
Ariana Cooper and Deryck Whibley have had three significant events that have changed their lives and relationship. She survived a suicide attempt, and his addiction nearly killed him a year later.
An event celebrating the life of Chester Bennington helped the singer finally deal with the first mentioned. The couple had their second child in March 2023.

Ariana Cooper Is an Artist
Ariana "Ari" Cooper was born in March 1991 to Jolie Cooper and Brent Cooper. She has at least two siblings, Brendon Cooper and Maria N. Cameron Hunter. On her 29th birthday in 2020, she predicted that "the best is yet to come":
"Here I am, in a life I could have never imagined for myself, surrounded by love. I have a husband who couldn't be more supportive and caring if he tried and a son who has brought us more joy and laughter than we could have thought."
Her mother, Jolie, has been "happily retired" since December 2015 from Apple Inc. and has kept herself busy as the publications/worship support at Central Christian Church since 2006. She attended Branham High School and is an alumna of West Valley College in Saratoga, California.
Brent, Ari's dad, also looks to be retired. On his Facebook page, he lists his former employment as machine maintenance at Deluxe in Campell, California, having previously worked at NUMMI as an electrician and AC Transit's electronics engineering technician.
Both parents have photos of their family as their Facebook cover images as of May 2023, and Jolie still has a "Stay home, save lives" template on her profile image, including her daughter.
They currently reside in Jolie's hometown of San Jose, California; Brent is originally from Livermore, California. Ari has written eloquent tributes to both on social media over the years.
For Father's Day 2016, she shared a photo of Brent walking her down the aisle of her wedding the year before. She thanked him for all he had done and will continue to do for the family. The artist wrote that she could not wait to see him again.
Ari admitted on Mother's Day the following year that she had put Jolie through a lot, "She has seen me in my darkest years and has been by my side for my best." She added in the Instagram tribute, which included a photo of them taken during the preparations for her wedding day:
"It's hard to put into words the feelings a daughter has for their mother or vice versa, but unconditional might be the closest. I am forever grateful for you, Mama."
The mother of two is a fine artist and model, sharing photos from both art forms on social media. Ari was featured in a June 2016 fashion spread for Bello Magazine.
Another experience he spent some money on was his and Ari's August 2015 wedding.
She thanked Art of Freelance for giving her community and pushing her to be a "more confident artist" after she exhibited her canvases at a space in downtown Los Angeles in 2017.
Ariana Cooper and Deryck Whibley Have Been Together for over a Decade
The Sum 41 frontman was married to his second serious girlfriend, fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne, between 2006 and 2010. A year after he and Ari wed, the "In Too Deep" singer said in an interview:
"After being married and divorced once, I kind of felt like I would never, ever get married again."
The couple has known each other since around 2011. The fine artist mentioned in March 2022 that they have known each other for almost 11 years, and she has uploaded a photo of them looking cozy in Vancouver, dating the image to 2011 in the caption.

Answering Vice in 2016 on the "nicest thing" he owns, he admitted he did not own much, acknowledging it must be his house. He conceded that he would "fly to go to concerts and spend money on tickets, hotels, and dinners."
Another experience he spent some money on was his and Ari's August 2015 wedding. The couple married at the Hotel Bel Air, celebrating with 100 family members and friends. The duo's first dance was to Frank Sinatra's "Cheek to Cheek."
He wrote on August 31, 2019, "4 years ago today, I married the love of my life [Ariana Cooper], and our journey keeps getting better and better." On their seventh anniversary, she posted that she felt like she had waited for him all her life but, at the same time, could not imagine a time he was not by her side.
Ariana Cooper Is the Mother of Two
"Hi, my name is Lydon Igby, and I am the new Whibley," Deryck captioned the first image of their baby on social media on March 2, 2020. With the Covid-19 lockdown implemented that month, Ari wrote on her hubby's birthday that she love being "stuck" in the house with him and their son.
The "Still Waiting" singer found inspiration for new music during the pandemic when he made a punk playlist from his youth for his aimless drives around Los Angeles with his wife and baby.
Twelve years into their relationship, Deryck wished his wife a happy birth on March 7, 2023, and introduced the world to their daughter Quentin Arlo Whibley.
Ariana and Deryck Have Been through Some Tough Times Together
Ari and Deryck both used to be binge drinkers. One night in 2013, the fine artist drank alone following a day's bender with friends after her husband went to bed upstairs.
The dark thoughts she was usually able to push down consumed her. She would have taken her own life had a friend not dropped by unexpectantly.
The couple moved past the incident without discussing it and continued to party until April 15, 2014. The "Open Your Eyes" singer collapsed while consuming alcohol in their kitchen from organ failure.
Following a challenging period that included a week-long induced coma and subsequent rehabilitation, Deryck and his then-fiancée, Ariana Cooper, embarked on a transformative journey together: both embraced sobriety. Their commitment to a sober lifestyle became evident as Ariana celebrated her last drink on April 15, 2014.
During a 2017 concert with Linkin Park to commemorate their late frontman Chester, who had died by suicide, the circumstances surrounding his wife's suicide attempt finally hit Deryck.
"I just felt like, 'What would I do if I had lost her?' I don't know how I'd react," he recalls. "I'm seeing all the people, I'm seeing his family there, I'm seeing his friends there, I'm seeing the band guys there, and I'm just thinking, 'What would I do if I lost her like that?'"
He wrote "Catching Fire" while working through these feelings, which was released with her consent in 2021. She has come to terms with the fact that her issues do not just stem from her misuse of alcohol and is in therapy for her depression.
