Many people are named by their parents after someone special. But not in Kristina's case: “'So, I feel like most people who are named after somebody have like a cute story behind it or they're named after somebody really special. That is not the case for me,” she says in a video.

Kristina's video inspires people to share strange and shocking naming stories! It turns out that many people around the world have fascinating tales to tell about how they were named after someone special or due to a strange coincidence.

Kristina, who graduated from Scott County High School, is currently a mom and a travel nurse. She is also engaged to her partner, Stew Johnson. The clip she posted has been liked 214,000 times and shared over 7,066 times.

Kristina was the first child of her parents. She says her parents had an unusual arrangement: if the baby was male, her mother would choose the name; but if the baby was female, her father would.

As Kristina's mother went into labor, it was discovered that Kristina's head was too big to pass through the birth canal. Consequently, she was born via Cesarean section, and both mother and baby were healthy after the delivery.

And then came the most interesting moment. While Kristina's mother was recovering from childbirth, her father hurriedly filled out the baby's paperwork, choosing to give her the name of his mistress, Kristina. Not knowing the catch then, Kristina's mother agreed to the name because she didn't hate it.

In her viral video, Kristina explains her father's decision. "If he messed up and called her the wrong name, he could say he was talking about me," she said.

After they were discharged from the hospital, Kristina and her mother went on with their lives, up to a certain point when her mother found out about her husband's infidelity and the story behind her name.

As a result, Kristina says in the comments that her dad abandoned her and her siblings when she was three: "My dad left when I was three and never had any contact with me or my sisters until we were grown. He went on to have more kids he also abandoned."

The user under the name of Chris wrote, “My dad was a long haul truck driver.. my oldest sis is named after a truck stop waitress in TX.. my middle sister got her name from a billboard.”

Social media can serve as a source of information, but it can also be a source of amusement. After reading the aforementioned story, many people may feel inclined to believe that their parents put careful thought into naming them.
