On May 11, TV personality Jon Gosselin shared an image of his sextuplets to wish them a happy birthday. Jon first became famous for his role in the reality TV show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," a show revolving around the busy lives of Jon and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin as they try to raise their sextuplets and a pair of twins.
Jon and Kate were married from 1999 to 2009 but eventually decided to go their separate ways. The couple shares eight children. They have sextuplets Alexis Gosselin, Aaden Gosselin, Joel Gosselin, Leah Gosselin, Hannah Gosselin, and Collin Gosselin, and a pair of older twins, Cara Gosselin and Madelyn Gosselin.
Jon has been estranged from most of his kids after the divorce. Most of his children lived with their mother after the divorce, while Jon took care of his daughter Hannah. However, the dad also kept in contact with his son, Collin, while the boy was enrolled in a program for kids with special needs.
Jon opened up about his divorce, accusing Kate of having an extra-marital affair behind his back.

Jon and Kate's two oldest kids, Cara and Madelyn, have left their parental home to go to college, while four of their six siblings stayed with their mom and mostly avoided contact with their dad. Despite the cold shoulders, Jon still hopes the kids will realize that he loves them unconditionally.
Fans were pleasantly surprised to see the image Jon posted to celebrate the sextuplets' 19 birthday. The Instagram post showed the six kids as small children standing in a row, smiling happily. The three boys wore matching jeans with blue shirts with drum kits printed on them, while the girls only wore matching jeans.

Jon hoped to show his children how much he still loves them with the post, captioning the image, "HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY to all my Kids!! I love you all so much!!" Jon opened up about his marriage, claiming the divorce was almost entirely Kate's fault. In the end, he said the divorce was "inevitable."
Where Are Jon's Children Now?
Jon opened up about his divorce, accusing Kate of having an extra-marital affair behind his back. Kate denied all his claims and directed the same accusations at him, saying Jon had been seeing another woman while he was married to her. Jon has continually refuted all the allegations ever since their legal battles started.
Despite the years of silence, Jon still hopes that his children will one day reach out to him again.
Over the years, the Gosselin children have been largely quiet about their parents, the divorce, and their lives after the hit reality TV show. However, one of the sextuplets took it upon himself to speak out about his family and what drove them all apart. In 2022, Collin opened up about his family, saying the TV show impacted them greatly.
At 18, Collin sat down with ET, claiming the show put a strain on their family. He also revealed how his mother sent him to a facility that was supposed to help him deal with his alleged behavioral issues. Collin apparently spent three years in the institution without his father knowing where he was.
The boy also claimed his mother only visited him three times during his stay at the facility, and he had no contact with any of his other family members. Collin described the experience as being "caged," and his dad confessed that the boy suffered from PTSD after he finally got his son out of the facility.
Collin eventually snuck a note out of the institution with one of his older friends, and the message made it to Jon. In it, Collin begged his dad to help him, and Jon obliged. After he was released, Collin cut all ties with his mother, choosing to move in with his sister Hannah and his dad.
Collin's sister Hannah also opened up about her relationship with her mom, saying she chose to move out because she has always been closer with her dad, but they still talk. Nonetheless, she misses her siblings, who are all growing up. Her sister, Leah, has started her own baking channel on social media.
Jon Is Still Hoping for Reconciliation
Despite the years of silence, Jon still hopes that his children will one day reach out to him again. In 2022, the dad-of-eight spoke about his children turning 18, saying that although he loves them all, he's glad to be rid of the constant custody battles and conflicts with Kate. He confessed:
"I have my own businesses and now it's time for me to move on. Dating, moving on with my own life. There's no more custody court. It's over. We are done today. It's over ... This weight has been lifted off my shoulder ... It is just a big relief."

Although he was glad his children turned 18, Jon confessed that he missed them dearly and hopes to reconnect with his estranged children soon. He noted that it's hard to talk to them at all and sort out the problems since they have severed all contact with him. He noted:
"It's horrible. Of course I miss them. Now, the other four being adults, maybe they will realize what the truth is and what has transpired and maturity steps in. Maybe they'll go discover the truth or they'll ask Hannah or ask Collin."
Jon also commented that he's not focusing on the past. Although he's close with Hannah and Collin, he's trying to show his children in any way he can that he adores them and hopes to reconnect with them. Jon isn't giving up on his children. Kate has made few comments about the situation, choosing to focus on her children and her career.
