In the interview, Roseanne opened up about her fall from grace, her relationship with her co-stars, and her life now.

Roseanne noted that one of her past co-workers who particularly seemed to have it out for her was her TV daughter, Sara Gilbert. In the interview, Roseanne commented that Sara "stabbed me in the back" while Roseanne needed support the most. Roseanne also noted that her co-star "stuck the knife in and twisted it repeatedly."

After the Tweets had gone viral, the actress apologized, but the damage had been done.

Instead of offering Roseanne support during a time that entirely changed the course of her career, Sara, among others, decided to add fuel to the fire by making negative comments about their co-star. Luckily, Roseanne had some backup, although the odds seemed insurmountable when the scandal emerged.

After Roseanne's apology, Sara kept commenting on the situation, using her talk show as a platform to criticize her former co-star. Eventually, Roseanne's son felt the need to step in and defend his mom, taking to the internet and addressing Sara directly.

Roseanne also commented on how betrayed she felt, since she had helped Sara out on numerous occasions, appearing on her show whenever she needed someone to fill in. Although the endless stream of derisive commentary eventually stopped, it was a long time before Roseanne could get back in the saddle.

Sara's Comments about Roseanne

Roseanne was fired from the reboot of "Roseanne" after she made a series of questionable Tweets that attracted much attention and riled many people up. After the Tweets had gone viral, the actress apologized, but the damage had been done. That said, Roseanne insists that Sara's comments greatly influenced how things played out.

Sara publicly shared how surprised she was at Roseanne's Tweets, shaming her co-star for the things she had written. At the time, Sara was also one of the co-hosts of the talk show "The Talk." Roseanne insisted that Sara used this platform to degrade the actress further, constantly slamming her for her Tweets.

At one point, Roseanne had had enough of Sara incessantly dragging her name through the mud, so she formulated a plan. The actress called Sara personally, put on an intimidating voice, and told Sara to stop talking about her. After she spoke to Sara, the talk show host finally stopped talking about Roseanne.

But Roseanne's son also took to the internet to defend his mother. After criticizing those who wanted to cancel Roseanne for her Tweets, he went on to address Sara directly. He also spoke about the fact that she kept shaming Roseanne for her Tweets, saying that if Roseanne was racist, Sara shouldn't be making money off of her.

Roseanne was stunned at the amount of backlash she received from her co-workers and the general public. She also noted that she had been struggling with her mental health for a while, and her co-workers had no idea. She also spoke to some of her other friends in the industry, who couldn't believe how much hate she was getting.

Roseanne was close with the comedian Norm McDonald, who called her after the controversy sparked. He was reportedly astonished at how the rest of the industry had turned against her. Roseanne reported that Norm had said to her, "I think they're trying to push you to suicide."

Roseanne's Life Now That She's Back

Although Roseanne thought her career was at an end, she has since found a few platforms to speak out about what happened to her. But besides her bustling life as a sitcom star, the actress has always had a deep love for her children, Jessica Pentland, Jennifer Pentland, Jake Pentland, Buck Thomas, and Brandi Brown.

These days, the actress largely stays out of the public eye, not starring in any significant projects. Instead, she devotes herself to her five kids and their numerous offspring. Over the years, the actress has reconnected with her first daughter after giving her up for adoption, and she helped raise her grandkids.

Roseanne became pregnant with Brandi when she was 18 and decided to give her daughter up for adoption. Although the decision was difficult, Roseanne made sure her daughter could find her if she ever felt like it. So, the actress lived her life and eventually fell pregnant with Jessica after marrying Bill Pentland.

Roseanne and Bill had two more children together, Jennifer and Jake, but the couple sadly went their separate ways in 1990 after 16 years together. In 1992, Roseanne tied the knot with the actor Tom Arnold, but the two separated soon afterward.

Also in 1992, Roseanne reconnected with Brandi. The actress recalled, "I had left information allowing her to find me when she turned 21. I had even told my own kids about the adoption a year earlier because I knew she was 17 and might try to find me."

After finding her daugther, the two made sure they could make up for lost time. Finally, Roseanne welcomed her youngest, Buck, via IVF in 1995. Now, all her kids have grown up and have started families of their own, while Roseanne has started dating Johnny Argent.
