Lora Chaffins Loves to Go Backpacking – Facts about Matt Long's Wife

Despite her husband's fame, Lora Chaffins, Matt Long's wife, has led a life out of the public eye. The college sweethearts were last known to have welcomed two children, and over the years, Lora has shown support for her husband's career.

Matt Long is an actor known for his roles as Jack McCallister on "Jack & Bobby," the younger Johnny Blaze in "Ghost Rider," and Tyler Prince in "Sydney White," co-starring Amanda Bynes. However, before making a name for himself on the Hollywood acting scene, he was an ordinary boy scout from Kentucky.

Lora Chaffins also hails from the Southeastern American state and has managed to keep a low profile despite the rise of her husband's career. However—despite her private nature—fans have kept up with her via social media.

Lora Chaffins Is Close to Her Family

Over the years, Lora, her sister Lisa and their mother have turned to social media to document their close bond. In February 2018, six months after her mother, Joan, underwent "a life-threatening" open heart surgery with "many complications," Lora posted an update on the then 75-year-old and shared:

"Thank you, God and the Cleveland Clinic, for granting my mother a longer life and a renewed, healthy heart!"

A few years later, in 2022, Joan celebrated her daughters in honor of Daughters Day and sweetly revealed that Lora and Lisa were her best friends. In November of that same year, Lisa supported her sister's husband when she turned to Facebook and posted a snap of the "Manifest" poster, the supernatural drama television show co-statting Matt, Melissa Roxburgh, and Josh Dallas.

"Manifest Fans, season 4 is streaming on Netflix! Show your support for KY native Matt Long (my brother-in-law) as the character 'Zeke,'" Lisa wrote.

While Lora's profession is unclear, her sister works as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Henry Clay High School and Madison Central High School Richmond in Kentucky. She also studied School Counseling at Eastern Kentucky University.

Lisa followed in her mother's footsteps, who also studied at Eastern Kentucky University and has a background in education as a former Distance Learning Facilitator at South Floyd High School.

Lora Chaffins and Matt Long Met at University

Lora and Matt were enrolled at Western Kentucky University when they met. During his college days, her husband's love for performing was evident as he participated in a college production of "Pippin" and humorously captured a photo of his exposed backside.

However, the joke later haunted the actor as someone displayed the snap of his nude rear at a school talent show. Matt humorously recalled:

"Needless to say, about five seconds later, I realized, 'Oh my God, that's the picture I took of myself.' I looked like a complete idiot, but I laughed it off. What else can you do?"

Although Lora has only stepped out with her husband to public events on rare occasions, in June 2021, she promoted Matt's series "Manifest" on Facebook. The actor's wife revealed that she barely shared on the social media platform and turned to Facebook to urge fans to stream the first two seasons of "Manifest" as it could "impact the fate of the show."

Matt Long and His Wife Have Two Children

Following the birth of their daughter in 2014, Lora and Matt welcomed their son during the Covid-19 pandemic and shared pictures. The first picture showed one hand, while the second showed their son's little feet. They shared the photos to instill a sense of hope in people during the difficult period.

As life slowly resumed normalcy, Matt revealed that he and his eldest child enjoyed their first backpacking trip in Kings Canyon National Park. A love of outdoor excursions appeared to run in the family, as Matt shared:

"My wife and I love to go backpacking. We always plan a big trip or two. We have a baby now, so we haven't been for the last couple of years."

While restricted to lockdown, Lora and her family created a makeshift camping experience at home, and her husband took to Instagram to document their experience.

In addition to their two known children, Matt Long and his wife are also pet parents. Their family includes their black and white cat, Frank, and Matt often shares funny posts impersonating their furry pet.
