Michael J. Fox Celebrates Lookalike Firstborn’s 34th B-Day — He Once Helped Ill Dad Shut Down a Hater
- Michael J. Fox celebrated his first child's 34th birthday.
- Fox's son has helped him through some tough times in his life.
- Fox also has three other children who have been by his side.
Michael J. Fox, famous for his roles in "Back to the Future" and "Family Ties," is a family man. He and his wife, Tracy Pollan, met and married many years ago and soon began a beautiful family together.
The couple's oldest son, Sam, has turned 34, and Fox has taken to social media to celebrate the occasion. Fans flocked to the comments section of his Instagram post to share their wishes for his son, too.
On May 30, Fox shared a photo of Sam blowing out the candles on a birthday cake. He followed that photo with a picture of him and his son in a boat, smiling, and another where Fox kisses Sam on the cheek.
In the caption, Fox said: "Happy birthday to my big bouncing baby boy" before telling the young man he was the best. Fox also gushed with pride to be the boy's father and told him he loved him.

Fox's fans showered Sam with love, too. One thought the father and son looked like twins and wished Sam a happy birthday. Another agreed that Sam and Fox looked very similar and that Sam looked almost exactly like Fox had when he was 34. Another exclaimed:
"Never realized how much he looks like you until now!"
Sam is Fox and Pollan's only son, and they welcomed him into the family in May 1989. They were both excited to become parents for the first time and communicated with Sam in utero by placing headphones on Tracy's belly and playing music for their then-unborn child.
Sam Helped Fox Defend Himself Against Online Trolls
Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease many years ago, and as such, his children have grown up helping their father out whenever he might need it. One of the areas Sam has proved very helpful to his dad was managing his social media accounts, particularly replying to trolls.

Fox, who admitted he doesn't normally respond to trolls who say negative things about his Parkinson's diagnosis, shared one particular incident when he was spurred to respond to a tweet that said "something nasty" about Parkinson's.
Seeking Sam's advise on how he should reply, Fox said Sam told him to type the letters "SMH." Fox had no idea what it meant, but he took his son's advice. To his surprise, the troll laughed at his response and apologized to Fox for offending him.
Baffled by the person's response, Fox asked his son what those three letters meant. Fox recalled:
"I said to my son, '[What] did you say?' and he said, 'Shaking my head.'"
Fox also shared that his daughters manage his Instagram accounts and make his Instagram posts for him, with Sam overseeing everything that his three daughters do for him on that account.
Fox Has Three Daughters
After Sam was born, Fox knew he wanted to expand his family with Pollan. Although he was already fighting his battle against Parkinson's, Fox felt he needed more love in his life in the form of children.
Eventually, Fox got his wish when the couple welcomed twin daughters, Aquinnah and Schuyler. The sisters have forged successful paths for themselves and become beautiful young women.
Aquinnah studied at Duke University and earned her degree in Psychology, Visual and Media Studies, and Art History. She did not spend all her time studying, though. She also joined the Duke University ballet program.
Although she now lives in Los Angeles and works at Annapurna Pictures as an assistant, she previously lived in New York, where she worked as a brand and marketing strategist.
Meanwhile, Schuyler also has a great career after studying at Pomona College and earning a degree in Psychology. Schuyler worked at Columbia University Medical Center as a Project Coordinator when she graduated. However, she soon decided to go back to school.
Schuyler then attended Harvard University, graduating with a Master of Education. She now works as an assistant producer in Massachusetts.
Both Fox twins maintain a low profile and are not often seen out and about. Their social media accounts are set to private so nobody can see what they're up to. However, they recently stepped out with their mother and father when Fox won his Lifetime Achievement Award at the Spring Moving Image Awards earlier this year.
Six years after their twins were born, Pollan and Fox decided that their family wasn't complete and needed one more child. Shortly after that, along came their youngest daughter, Esmé.
Esmé, born in November 2001, is much like her sisters in that she prefers staying out of the public eye. However, her father sometimes shares updates about her life, like in 2019 when he confirmed that she was leaving the family home to attend college.
When he shared the news, he said that Esmé had been the last child living with him and his wife, and now that they were empty nesters, they were planning to do some traveling alone after many years surrounded by children.
The Fox family is tightly knit and are there for each other whenever needed. Speaking about what has kept their marriage going for so long, Pollan and Fox admitted that they always give one another the benefit of the doubt.
Pollan mentioned that her husband always assumed she was doing the best she could, and Fox shared that one should find the best things about life and their partner and then celebrate those things rather than focus on the negative. What an inspirational family!
