Danielle Savre & Stefania Spampinato's Onscreen Chemistry Makes People Wonder if They Are a Couple in Real Life

"I just really wanna experience the kind of chemistry Danielle Savre and Stefania Spampinato have at least once in my life," a "shipper" of "Marina," an amalgamation of their characters' names Maya and Carina, tweeted.

"When chemistry goes beyond reason," another agreed, tweeting screen grabs of the TV couple kissing." A third fan called their connection "magic in a bottle."

"I will honestly never get over how unreal the chemistry is between Danielle Savre and Stefania Spampinato," a Twitter user wrote. Savre has commented on viewers' appreciation of a solid gay couple who are not "constantly in a state of turmoil."

The social media feedback on their relationship mirrors the initial response from the cast and crew during the actress' first table read. Spampinato remembers how the "room froze:"

"Everybody was holding their breath, and it was just a meeting in Joe's bar. But the chemistry was so strong in that scene, the whole room felt it."

On "Valen y Sofi" in May 2022, Savre admitted she had been in love with a woman before. The hosts asked how she copes with the speculation of her relationship with Spampinato.

"I handle it honestly," she said as she explained how their passion for life and their craft, including their mutual respect and admiration, "resonates on camera." The actress added:

"I love Stefania as a friend [laughs], absolutely love her. And I think that we just love working together."

Though Maya's sexuality only expanded after the actress booked "Station 19," the Californian native "wholeheartedly" supports the character development.

In a 2018 interview with StyleCaster, the Shondaland alum preferred not to discuss her sexual preferences. "I will say this," she said:

"I believe we fall in love with who we fall in love with, and gender is not a factor. I think you fall in love with the person, not with the sex."

Just as they remodeled their bathroom, she went to South Africa to film "Deep Blue Sea 2." On her return, she was booked on the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff. She said:

Savre's former boyfriend, Contis, graduated from the private boarding school Culver Military Academy. At Michigan State University, he earned a BA in economics and was the NCAA men's ice hockey Manager.

He joined the Chicago Blackhawks as an operational intern in 2014 and has been promoted multiple times to a managerial position as honkey analytics/video analyst. The private couple has gone their separate ways.
