Tom Selleck: Rising above Parenting Challenges and Supporting His Two Adult Children
Tom has had two marriages in his lifetime. In 1971, he married model Jacqueline Ray. However, after 11 years, the couple decided to go their separate ways and officially divorced in 1982.
Five years later, Tom again found love and exchanged vows with British actress Jillie Mack. Despite their 12-year age gap, their relationship has endured and flourished for over 30 years.

Tom became a father figure to Kevin when he adopted him during his marriage to his ex-wife. Even after the couple's relationship ended, Tom was involved in his eldest son's quite challenging life.
Despite being reported as a troublemaker during his teenage years, Kevin's behavior eventually transformed. Subsequently, he pursued his higher education at the University of Southern California.
Kevin once followed in the footsteps of his famous father in Hollywood, pursuing a career as an actor and musician. He made a notable appearance in a single episode of the series "Magnum P.I." and recorded the soundtrack "Eyes of Sand" for the film "Scream 2" with his former band Tonic.
Kevin was part of Tonic from 1993 to 1996. He significantly contributed to recording their hit album "Lemon Paradise," which showcased popular songs such as the 2009 track "If You Could Only See."
Unfortunately, Kevin's life and once-promising career in the entertainment world took a downward spiral due to his reported battles with drug addiction and alcoholism.
Kevin's struggles not only took a toll on his well-being but also inflicted considerable financial hardships, compelling his dad to step forward and offer him much-needed solutions.

However, in a 2018 Parade interview, Tom discussed his role as a father while drawing a comparison to his on-screen fatherhood role on the TV show "Blue Bloods," where he starred with actors Will Estes and Donnie Wahlberg. Tom said of his reflections:
"You never stop being a dad even though your kids are grown."

Similar to his unconditional love shown for Kevin, Tom also takes immense pleasure in spending quality time with his youngest daughter Hannah.
Engaging in horseback riding alongside his daughter ranks among the doting dad's preferred pastimes to engage in together. Hannah's love for horseback riding started when she was just four years old.
Her parents played a crucial role in fostering her passion by encouraging her to explore various interests. She tried soccer, ballet, dancing, and ice skating. Out of all these, horseback riding became her favorite. Hannah started her competitive riding journey when she was just ten years old.
Hannah also expressed her fondness for her connection with the animals, her enjoyment of caring for various ponies, and spending her childhood days at the barn.
She developed a deep affection for the entire riding culture due to the extensive time and personal attention dedicated to caring for the horses.
Today, Hannah has earned a wide reputation as a talented equestrian professional and accomplished international show jumper.
She has earned a series of medals from numerous horseback riding competitions, including the 2008 North American Junior and Young Rider Championships and the 2010 Blenheim Summer Classic in California.
Hannah's most recent competition she participated was the Longines Masters of Los Angeles at the L.A. Convention Center in 2015.
In addition to her equestrian pursuits, Hannah co-founded the horse breeding company Descano Farm alongside her famous father, with whom she has been actively involved in breeding horses.
Hannah attributed her involvement with the company to her father's strong encouragement. She said that Tom had a keen interest in nurturing young horses and was particularly fond of the idea of breeding and developing them. She added:
"I had a couple top older grand prix horses that brought me along in my career, and when they weren't able to do their job anymore, I decided to breed them.
Hannah also mentioned that the farm currently has approximately seven foals, ranging from 4-year-olds to the most recent newborns.
Before her rise to fame in the world of horseback riding, Hannah briefly worked at a public relations firm after graduating from Loyola Marymount University, where she pursued a degree in communications.
While juggling her business and career, Hannah enjoys traveling. Her explorations, which she documents on her Instagram page, have taken her to places like New York, Washington, and Amsterdam.
With Hannah and Kevin finding their footing and experiencing positive transformations in their lives, Tom, known as a "fairly private" dad, seems to hold a deep sense of pride in their journeys and the remarkable individuals they have become.
