Wunmi Mosaku's Husband Also Works in the Entertainment Industry

While his wife opted for a career in front of the camera, Mosaku's husband, an Angeleno, didn't stray too far and chose a more low-key path in the industry.

However, despite their careers, Mosaku and her husband ensured they made time for each other, even if it was simply watching a TV show together, such as the popular 2000s crime drama series starring Michael B. Jordan, Dominic West, and Idris Elba, "The Wire."

"I actually started watching it last year, but just because it's my husband's favorite show," she said in 2022. As her career has been on a steady incline, Mosaku has still managed to keep her relationship under wraps, as she said, "Once it's out there, it's out there."

Wunmi Mosaku Moved to America for Her Husband, despite Her Initial Hesitation

During an interview a year after the whole world shut down due to the pandemic, Mosaku spoke about how differently her life would have gone if Covid-19 had hit years earlier. She remarked:

"I definitely wouldn't have gone on a date with an American that I ended up marrying. I mean, it's the best thing that ever happened. But I know I wouldn't have gone on that date. My whole life would have been different."

Fortunately, she did meet her American love. And, despite America's history of gun violence and police brutality, Mosaku's husband, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, convinced his wife to relocate to the States. "But being here has completely opened my eyes..." Mosaku said.

Thanks to her husband's father, a scholar in African and African-American history, the actress learned more about the Pan-African movement and prolific African American figures such as W.E.B Du Bois and Frederick Douglass.

As a Nigerian-British person, Mosaku revealed that she could relate to the racist experiences that are the realities of people of color. But she also acknowledged the different experiences black people from the UK had compared to those from America. "...I understand that our struggles, as similar as they are, are so different," she stated.
