Kevin Costner ‘Hit the Roof’ over Neighbor That Hung Out with His Wife Who Left Him 'Homeless', Claim Reports
- Kevin Costner claims he was left homeless after his estranged wife refused to leave his home amid divorce.
- The actor reportedly confronted his neighbor who "hung out a lot" with his spouse while Costner wasn't home.
In June 2023, an update was given about Kevin Costner, 68, and his divorce from his second wife, Christine Baumgartner, 49. According to reports, the "Yellowstone" actor said his estranged wife had left him without a place to stay.
The handbag designer allegedly refused to move out of his $145 million mansion after filing for divorce on May 1, 2023. The former couple had been married for nineteen years before their union reportedly began falling apart in April 2023.

Costner said he was "homeless" now that she hadn't left the property. The pair allegedly failed to reach a compromise via their attorneys over their divorce, and now matters between them have become bitter, with the actor reportedly stating:
"This is surprising and disheartening to me."
Recalling his previous 16-year-long marriage to Cindy Silva, he noted how he also didn't have a "home base" and could not live at home during their separation. He'd never wished the past to repeat itself and was shocked when Baumgartner filed for divorce.
In their prenuptial agreement, the former couple stated that the mother of three would vacate their Carpinteria, California, home -- bought sixteen years before marrying his second wife -- within 30 days if a divorce were initiated.

Baumgartner was allegedly supposed to use her $1.45 million fund to relocate but has yet to do so since receiving most of the money. Costner's lawyers claimed the actor's estranged wife was staying put to force him to meet her "financial demands."
The designer allegedly signed a restraining order against him, effectively stopping him from selling the home or taking their children out of the city.

Court papers also reported that Baumgartner charged more than $95,000 to the star's credit card without notice since their separation.
In the wake of the divorce filing, Costner told the court he was willing to negotiate further financially to reach an agreement if that would make her leave the beach house. The actor was open to contributing $30,000 monthly for a rental home as part of child support and an extra $10,000 for moving costs.
After the divorce filing was revealed, Arnold Robinson, the star's representative, said circumstances beyond Costner's control occurred, resulting in him needing to "participate in a dissolution of marriage." Sources claimed the celebrity "wasn't shocked" when he learned about the divorce filing.
However, the news came as "an unpleasant surprise," it wasn't something he wanted, but he knew his wife had been "unhappy." The insider claimed Costner's busy work schedule impacted his relationship badly as Baumgartner had wished them to have family time at their Santa Barbara home. However, the actor wasn't around much as he was always on sight filming.
The source shared how his absence was difficult for his wife, who didn't want him getting into another project as he was reportedly obsessed with shooting "Horizon" since 2022.

The mother of three was displeased about the whole idea. Besides Baumgartner and Costner failing to sort out their marital issues, a third person might've been involved in the pair turning to divorce.
What Happened between Kevin, His Estranged Wife, and Their Neighbor?
According to other reports, Baumgartner had been regularly "hanging out" with Daniel Starr, 42, a tech entrepreneur, while Costner was away filming. The actor allegedly confronted Starr, a tenant living on his property, after the businessman became close friends with his wife.

Reports stated that the two men had an "angry exchange" that turned into a legal dispute, with Costner and his wife trying to remove him from their beachfront guest house, which cost around $64,000 monthly. In June 2022, Starr reportedly signed a twelve-month lease and now refused to leave.
The star [Kevin Costner] didn't want to hear the entrepreneur's [Daniel Starr] side, and in March 2023, Starr moved out months before his lease concluded.
He allegedly claimed he'd done nothing wrong, leading to several emails flying around, including legal letters. A source revealed how the businessman had been happily living in the house, as he'd wished for his four-year-old son to feel settled.

Starr allegedly became close friends with Baumgartner and her husband after moving in, and they'd hang out with their children. However, Costner was always away filming on location, and his wife probably became lonely. The insider stated:
"Chris and Daniel hung out a lot. She would come into his house almost daily."
When the actor found out, he got upset, and "things escalated" in the drama between him and Starr. The handbag designer reportedly disapproved of Starr's attitude toward their friendship, and she texted him, informing him she wanted his departure.
At the time, he was six months into his lease and tried calming things down despite being upset. However, when that failed, he brought his attorney into the matter, and instead of seeing his side, Costner sided with his wife.

The star "hit the roof" and didn't want to hear the entrepreneur's side, and in March 2023, Starr moved out months before his lease concluded. Now that he was part of the couple's drama, Starr's representative said he wished "nothing but the best" to Costner in his legal dispute with his estranged wife.

Besides his three children with Baumgartner, -- sons Hayes, 14, Cayden, 16, and a daughter Grace, 13 -- Costner is also father to daughters Annie, 39, and Lily, 36, and son Joe, 35, with his first wife.
The "Dances With Wolves" star became a father of seven when Bridget Rooney, his ex-girlfriend, welcomed a son, Liam, 27.
If the actor has his way, his wife would be the second person to be evacuated from his home, which was perched on a clifftop with ocean views.
