Graham Chase Robinson, De Niro's ex-personal assistant, worked with the star for many years before she made an acrimonious departure from the position in 2019 after De Niro and Hightower called it quits.

By the time Robinson left De Niro's employment, he had already moved on with his current partner, Tiffany Chen, who he met when they worked together on "The Intern." Chen has reportedly weighed in on Robinson's departure.

A 158-page court document on the case between De Niro and Robinson allegedly states that not only did Robinson's relationship with De Niro fall apart, but she also had a problem with Chen. The record reportedly shows texts, depositions, emails, and audio recordings showing the reasons for the $6 million lawsuit against Robinson.

Chen allegedly revealed that Robinson was "territorial" and didn't work well with others. The court document also alleges that Robinson may have been in love with De Niro during her time as his employee.

Why Are Robinson and De Niro Embroiled in a Legal Battle?

The court document, which was initially sealed but has recently been opened, allegedly states all the reasons that Robinson and De Niro have been in a legal battle since 2019 when she departed from her position.

One accusation that was reportedly made in the document was that Robinson had stolen frequent-flier miles from De Niro and that she had abused the company credit cards before she resigned.

Another accusation allegedly mentioned in the document was that she had binge-watched her favorite TV series while on the clock at De Niro's New York residence.

Robinson has reportedly countered these claims, accusing De Niro of gender discrimination and being forced to be De Niro's "office wife," doing things like scratching his back and buttoning his shirts for him.

It is alleged that in the document, Robinson accused De Niro of subscribing to old gender roles and not seeing women as equals in the workplace or caring that doing so violated the law.

While both De Niro and Robinson wanted to sue one another after she left her post as his personal assistant, De Niro reportedly struck first, accusing Robinson of using $300,000 worth of frequent-flier miles and using his company card for personal expenses like exercise classes and pet grooming.

The document allegedly also accused Robinson of regularly using the company card for luxuries like electronics, transport, groceries, and flowers and that she also regularly took petty cash from the actor.

It has also been reported that Robinson was accused of converting over 7 million Delta SkyMiles, using 3 million for personal travel, and then transferring the remaining 4.5 million into her personal bank account.

When Robinson countered the claims with her own against De Niro for gender discrimination, the pair allegedly entered a new battle over whose case would proceed first. The matter has reportedly been settled as both cases will be heard by a Manhattan jury in October this year.

Robinson's lawsuit, which she filed shortly after De Niro filed his against her, reportedly demands double what her former boss demanded in his lawsuit, coming in at a whopping $12 million.

What Are The Issues Between Robinson and Chen?

While Robinson has been fighting against De Niro, she has also reportedly been fighting against his new love and the mother of his youngest child, Chen. The pair have aired their grievances about one another.

Chen allegedly shared her suspicions about the former assistant to another employee, after which Robinson's responsibilities in her role at De Niro's residence were minimized.

It was then alleged that Robinson used a colleague's email to confirm what she had thought, that Chen was the reason behind her responsibilities being stripped from her. Robinson apparently considered this "the final straw."

After De Niro's divorce, the actor reportedly paid Robinson $300,000 so that she would continue working for him as she had expressed a desire to move on. However, when she was demoted, things turned ugly.

Robinson, who was 25 when she began working for De Niro in 2008, allegedly asked that her severance package include two years' worth of her $300,000 monthly salary and that she receive continued health coverage and a recommendation letter from the actor.

It has been reported that when De Niro spoke to Chen about Robinson's severance desires, Chen suggested that instead of paying the money to Robinson, De Niro put it toward "the therapy everyone needs … as a result of her."

Allegedly, as Robinson employed a lawyer to assist her when navigating the legal battle with De Niro, Chen texted her beau and once again aired her grievances about Robinson, saying:

"She thought she was your wife. I saw it from the beginning. I told you."

De Niro reportedly replied to the text saying that he agreed and wondered how Robinson dared to act like his wife. After Robinson left De Niro's employment, there was an internal probe by De Niro's lawyer, Tom Harvey.

Harvey was the one who allegedly found that Robinson had hacked her colleagues' emails and found the reasons she had been demoted. This was also where Harvey found that Robinson had reportedly stolen the SkyMiles. The pair will go to court in October to settle the battle.
