'So Proud': Ray Liotta's Daughter Karsen Reacts to Her Late Father's Emmy Nomination
The late Ray Liotta's daughter, Karsen Liotta, took to social media to celebrate her father's posthumous Emmy nomination this week. The acclaimed actor died unexpectedly last year.
"So Proud ♥," Karsen Liotta wrote in an Instagram story with a screen grab from the Emmy Awards website of her father, Ray Liotta's nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Anthology for his turn as Big Jim Keene in "Black Bird."
The beloved actor died in the Dominican Republic at 67 on May 26, 2022. He was in the country filming "Dangerous Waters" when he passed away in his sleep. The DR authorities later confirmed heart and respiratory complications as the cause of death.

Born on December 18, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, the actor broke into the industry playing a nice guy on the soap opera "Another World" between 1978 and 1981.
But he would become known as a tough guy from his career making parts as Shoeless Joe Jackson in 1989's "Field of Dreams" alongside Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones, and a gangster in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas."
With piercing blue eyes, he was cast as Frank Sinatra in the TV film "The Rat Pack" in 1998. More recently, he played a lawyer in the critically acclaimed "Marriage Story" and as twins in the "Sopranos " prequel "The Many Saints of Newark." He was engaged to Jacy Nittolo.

"To the real G. Thanks for teaching me everything I know," Karsen praised her father while he was still alive in June 2018. She posted a photo of her as a toddler with her father a few weeks after his death, writing,
"Those who knew him loved him. You are the best Dad anyone could ask for. I love you. Thank you for everything."

Karsen was born December 21, 1998, to Ray and his first wife, Michelle Grace, their only child. She first appeared on the big screen with her parents in "A Rumor of Angels" in 2000. The up-and-coming star played Barb in Adam Sandler's "Hubie Halloween" in 2020.
She portrayed Ray Liotta's daughter in the third season of his police drama "Shades of Blue" in 2018 with Jennifer Lopez. Karsen got to experience her father's last Emmy-nominated performance up close as his co-star in "Black Bird."
