Tim Tebow Was a Virgin until 32 Waiting for Right Person — Now the Devout Christian Is Finally Happily Married
- Tim Tebow, a devout Christian, said he would stay a virgin until he married the right woman.
- He remained a virgin for 32 years until he tied the knot with Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
- After trusting God for years to bring the right woman into his life, Tebow believed marrying Miss Universe 2017 was "worth the wait."
Born on August 14, 1987, Tim Tebow rose to fame as a professional football player after being part of the Denver Broncos, the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Jets in the NFL.
He was born in the Philippines to missionary parents, which taught him a lot about Christianity. Besides playing football, Tebow plays basketball, has written books that became New York Times Bestsellers, worked as a broadcaster on ESPN, and speaks at public events.

Tebow waited for God to send the right girl for him. He said he wanted someone who likes him for who he is. He finally found his one and only, who is now his wife.
What Did Tim Say about Being a Virgin?
When a news reporter asked Tebow about his virginity in 2009, the football star laughed briefly before saying, "Yes, I am." He happily admitted that he was a virgin before pointing out that most of the reporters in front of him were "stunned."
"I think it's something that I'll have to trust God for. He'll bring someone along at the right time. But that doesn't mean that I don't want it, though!" Tebow said in an interview while talking about his marriage plans.

In a 2017 interview, the football player said he was looking for the right girl but couldn't find anyone. At the time, Tebow was all set to get married and start a family, but he hadn't found a partner. He added:
"No one will be happier than me when I finally find the right person."
How Did Tim Meet His Now-Wife?
In 2018, Tebow met Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, at a prom arranged by his foundation. During their first meeting, Tebow knew she was the woman he had been waiting for.
The couple soon began dating, and the world learned about it in July 2018 when Tebow talked about it on ESPN. Their Instagram followers realized things were official between the couple when Nel-Peters posted a photo with her then-boyfriend to greet him on his birthday in August.
Originally from South Africa, Nel-Peters studied business management in her home country before moving to New York. She developed a passion for teaching self-defense to women after experiencing something unusual while she was Miss South Africa.
Some people tried to push her inside the car during a carjacking incident but she escaped the scary situation by punching one of them. After that incident, Nel-Peters learned the importance of self-defense and advocated for women to learn it.
In September 2018, after dating for some time, Tebow and Nel-Peters met each other's families. Nel-Peters shared a photo on Instagram featuring the couple and their families in one frame.
It wasn't until January 10, 2019, that Tebow proposed to his girlfriend for marriage. The couple shared photos from their special day where Tebow was kneeling on one knee holding a ring while Nel-Peters stood before him, covering her face with her hands.
"Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world," Tebow captioned his Instagram post, which has since garnered over 497,000 likes. Nel-Peters shared the same photos with her followers and wrote, "Any dreams I've ever had, you've exceeded them all!"
When Did Tim Tie the Knot?
On January 20, 2020, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in South Africa. Tebow wanted his wife to wear the best wedding gown because he understood it was what every girl dreamed of. However, he said the dress wouldn't affect his feelings about her. "I already have my dream girl!" he said.
Meanwhile, Nel-Peters expected the football player to cry upon seeing her walk down the aisle. She often joked with him that she would redo her walk if she didn't see tears rolling down his cheeks.
While waiting for the right girl, Tebow stayed a virgin for 32 years and looked forward to his wedding. He revealed the three things that he was eagerly waiting for:
"The first moment I see her in her wedding dress, the first kiss, and the first dance together as man and wife."
The decision to marry Nel-Peters was extraordinary for Tebow since he had waited all his life for that moment. "It was 100 percent worth the wait," he said about marrying Nel-Peters, and he was excited to find out how they would spend their lives together.
