Henry Cavill has starred in "The Witcher" since the show's beginning, but in October 2022, he said goodbye to the role he loved for years.

"The Witcher's" newest trailer was recently released, and knowing that it will be Cavill's last did not sit well with his fans and avid television viewers alike.

"Literally, the fact this is the last 3 episodes with Henry as Geralt is heartbreaking," one fan said. "The show is just never gonna be the same without him." Meanwhile, another fan commented:

"He made this character who he is, and it's going to be hard to fill those shoes."

Cavill first announced his exit from the show on Instagram, where he endorsed the new actor taking over from him. "I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf," he wrote.

The actor proceeded to wish Hemsworth luck in playing a deep and beautiful character, which fans will learn to love. Similarly, Hemsworth took to Instagram to share his thoughts on his new role, claiming he is beyond happy to play Geralt of Rivia.

The "Hunger Games" star knows Cavill did a fantastic job playing Geralt, and now, he has big shoes to fill. Admittedly, Hemsworth is a big fan of Cavill and was inspired by what he made of the character.

Henry Cavill did not disclose his reason for leaving the beloved show. However, rumors about alleged creative disagreements between the actor and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich circulated online and it is assumed to be the cause of his departure.

Ahead of "The Witcher" Season 2, Cavill pushed for his character to be more consistent with the book on which the series is based. Meanwhile, some fans believe Cavill wants to focus more on the filming of other "Superman" films, hence his sudden departure.

However, since DC decided on a film recast, following "Man of Steel," "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," and "Justice League," David Corenset is set to take the role of Clark Kent in "Superman: Legacy."

While Cavill portrayed the Man of Steel in cinemas, in real life, he is related to an actual superhero -- one of his four brothers, Niki Richard Dalgliesh Cavill.
