Tina Knowles Ditches Wedding Ring in First Public Sighting amid Divorce from Richard Lawson

With Tina Knowles' looming divorce, it was inevitable for her to be photographed without her ex Richard Lawson and a notable piece of jewelry.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's mom, Tina Knowles, was snapped by paparazzi at the Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday minus her wedding band.

This was the first sighting of the designer since she filed for divorce from her Richard Lawson on Wednesday. Clutching a Louis Vuitton bag as she exited a black SUV, her bare left hand popped against her chic but comfortable, all-black travel ensemble.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, the 69-year-old cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakup. Their separation's official date is Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

She reverted to "Tina Knowles" in her Instagram bio, having changed it legally and on social media to "Tina Lawson" when she married the "Poltergeist" actor eight years ago.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Solange Knowles, and Blue Ivy Carter were amongst the white-clad guests at Tina and Richard's nuptials on a yacht in April 2015.

Tina and Richard shared their drawn-out love story on a panel at The Merge Summit 2016. They had met over three decades earlier but picked up their friendship in earnest after the mother of two's messy divorce from Matthew Knowles. She said:

"I'm going to pray for the type of man that I should have, and I did."

Tina Knowles had attended Richard's dance class with a mutual friend. The trio had drinks afterward, where the friend enquired if the actor had any friends she could introduce to the newly divorced singleton.

He asked, "What about me?" when hearing the designer's wish list in a man, but they both shot down the idea. The actor said their relationship changed from platonic to romantic in "a beautiful, sort of evolutionary way."
