Sofia Vergara is known for her timeless beauty that defies her age, but surprisingly, she wasn't always keen on preserving her youthful skin. Now that she knows more, the famous actress does not gatekeep her beauty tips.

When trying new things, Sofia Vergara does not back down. The "Modern Family" star admittedly enjoys and can be swayed to try new beauty products.

She believes it is more important to prevent aging than fix it, as the latter is much more difficult. Now more than ever, she has become diligent about caring for her skin and previously shared her beauty tips and advice.

Sofia Vergara Uses SPF

Growing up, Vergara didn't prioritize protecting herself from sun damage despite often hitting the beach in her hometown, Barranquilla, Columbia. She didn't know any better and would use coconut oil on her skin. "It was like frying a chicken," she said.

Thanks to magazines, Vergara learned about the power of SPF and the damage tanning does. She immediately stopped tanning her face and focused on preserving it.

She advocated the importance of using SPF so much that she launched her suncare brand, Toty, a homage to her childhood nickname in Columbia.

Her brand released several products, including the Solaria Mineral SPF 50+, an antioxidant mineral sunscreen serum, the Ilumina CC Creamy Compact 50+, and the Ilumina CC Cream SPF 50+.

Sofia Vergara Often Uses Makeup to Enhance Her Features

While she did not prioritize sunblock in her youth, Vergara has always loved using makeup. She usually has eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick but sometimes skips on foundation and contour.

Vergara doesn't really put effort into applying makeup as it comes naturally to her. She also feels her best when she has already spent time doing her makeup, using several products she owns. She said:

"I'm always very put together. I've been doing the same makeup since I was 15 [...]. Even in the morning, I put it on. That's my thing."

However, Vergara looks just as beautiful without makeup and has received much praise from fans for looking young.

Because of her love for makeup, Vergara hopes to expand her beauty brand and produce body makeup with SPF. Specifically, she wants a product that does not stain clothes.

Sofia Vergara's Skincare Tips

As an actress, Vergara has often been exposed to high-heat lamps on set. Unfortunately, she developed Rosacea because of this and would find parts of her face with rashes or a really red color. She has since been more diligent in treating her skin and would try various brands and products.

However, she no longer uses rich oils and moisturizers and tends to keep her skincare regimen simple. She starts the day by consistently applying SPF and ends it by always taking off her makeup in the evening. Vergara uses Cetaphil cleanser and eye makeup remover but tries other brands occasionally.

She also enjoys the Supergoop! Sunscreen as it has worked well on her skin. Calming serums from Luzern also work well on her skin.

Besides the external efforts she applies to her body, Vergara keeps her skin healthy with a healthy diet and lifestyle. She sleeps for several hours, as needed, and doesn't consume too much alcohol. Because of her healthy lifestyle, Sofia Vergara has also managed to maintain a fit figure.

In July 2023, Vergara made headlines because of her divorce from her husband, Joe Manganiello. Nevertheless, the two managed to maintain a good relationship as they share a son.
