In January 2021, a particular publication released a story claiming Daryl Hannah had fallen pregnant at 60 years, expecting her first child with her then-75-year-old husband, Neil Young. The news quickly went viral as other media sites reported the story.

A photo of the couple excitedly sitting beside one another also made the rounds, showing Daryl Hannah holding a sign that read "We Are" and Neil Young holding a jar of Prego sauce. Fans immediately took to social media to express their shock.

However, what later became clear was that the origin of the miracle story, which even included statements from Hannah and Young, was a blog that wrote satirical pieces. Jay Leno once suffered the same fate when the former late-night host was rumored to be gay.

Daryl Hannah's Children: The Actress Considered Adoption

In 2010, Hannah spoke about having children, but the actress didn't want to start a family until she was in a more "solid relationship." Several years before, she had expressed how she'd always wanted a family of her own.

At the time, she noted how she already had over thirty nieces and nephews but no kids of her own. She was also happily romantically involved with someone but felt it would have been "unfair" for her to speculate if she'd have children with the mystery man.

Hannah also considered adoption, noting that numerous children worldwide deserved to be loved and cared for. However, she reserved, "I don't want to be one of those actresses who adopts a child and then goes off to work and leaves the child with somebody else."

Daryl Hannah Was Diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome as a Child

Hannah opened up about the events that led to her diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome, a medical condition related to Autism, as a kid. She explained that she was often in a dissociative-like state, mesmerized by fires, "often in a dream world" and "not very communicative."

She underwent some tests, after which doctors recommended to her mother that she take certain medications and have her institutionalized. Hannah said she was grateful her mother refused.

Instead, she took Hannah out of school for an entire year to let her exist in her "imaginary world" before helping her "reintegrate" into the "normal world." Although she still struggles with the syndrome, she learned to deal with it better as she grew older.
