Salma Hayek is a mother of one and also a stepmother to her husband's child. Her spouse Francois-Henri Pinault was previously involved with a supermodel with whom he had a child.

Pinault and Canadian fashion model Linda Evangelista started dating toward the end of 2005 and were together for four months before they parted ways.

The businessman began dating Hayek in 2006, and by that time, he learned that he had fathered a child with Evangelista. However, the billionaire did not want a child at the time.

Regardless, Evangelista kept the pregnancy. Their son Augustin was born in October 2006 and in 2012, the first-time mom took Pinault to court over child support.

She and her lawyer, William Beslow, argued then that even though Pinault was monied, having earned $5 million yearly during that period, he had not paid any amount to support his son.

Evangelista claimed her former boyfriend asked her to terminate the pregnancy, and she refused. According to her lawyers, she stated she would raise the child on her own.

The Canada native was worth $8 million then but divulged her financial circumstances had changed after her lucrative L'Oreal Paris contract ended. Evangelista also said she first filed for child support in 2010 and again in 2011. However, both her claims were not attended to.

Meanwhile, as Pinault took the stand, he denied asking her to terminate the pregnancy, adding that he tried several times to put forth child support plans but only received silence and unreasonable demands. He said, "I was not involved in the decision of having a baby."

Still, his son Augustin came into the world, and eleven months after his birth, he had another child. Hayek gave birth to the couple's daughter Valentina Paloma in September 2007, their only child together. Valentina and Augustin are half-siblings born only a few months apart.

How Pinault Met Hayek – His Son's Stepmother

Pinault and his famous wife, Hayek, crossed paths in the spring of 2006 while attending a gala at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice. The Mexican native gushed about the duo's meeting in a 2019 interview, saying:

"It's such a romantic, amazing story, but it is mine."

The couple married on February 14, 2009. They actually wed twice, with the first being in a city hall ceremony in Paris and the second being in a star-studded affair in Venice, Italy. Hayek's fellow stars, Charlize Theron and Ashley Judd, attended her nuptials. The A-list actresses were spotted arriving in gondolas at the venue.

Hayek and Pinault have been married for 14 years, and she has a meaningful and supportive relationship with his former flame, Evangelista. The two women reportedly share a bond.

Their kids also have two elder half-siblings, Francois and Mathilde, from their father's previous marriage to Dorothée Lepère. Pinault acknowledged his son Augustin in 2007, born more than eight months after he and his mother split.

He divulged that he tried to include him in his family life in America or France whenever he could, adding the now-teenager was fully part of his family.

Hayek Maintains a Close Relationship with Evangelista – She Cooked Her Dinner on Thanksgiving

Augustin reportedly spends the holidays with his father, and his stepmother Hayek is very much a part of his mother's life. Evangelista shared how close she and the film producer are.

In an August 2023 interview, the doting mom revealed she fell sick at Thanksgiving. Evangelista initially told Hayek she would not celebrate the occasion because she was not feeling well.

But then Hayek insisted there would be a celebration because she was on her way over. The next thing she knew, Hayek showed up at her home. She'd hopped on a plane with her daughter Valentina to her place.

When they got there, the "Frida" star prepared Thanksgiving dinner. "She asked what I wanted—it was a very eclectic wish list. I wanted her Mexican chicken with truffled potatoes. And she spent the day in the kitchen and cooked it herself," Evangelista disclosed. She stressed Hayek had no help cooking up a feast which she described as "a beautiful meal."
