American singer-songwriter Donnie Wahlberg recently celebrated his birthday, and his beloved wife of nearly a decade commemorated his special day on social media.

The Hollywood star was born Donald Edmond "Donnie" Wahlberg Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1969. He was born into a Swedish family on his paternal grandfather's side.

Donnie is the eighth of nine children of Donald Wahlberg, a delivery driver, and Alma Conroy (née Donnelly), a nurse's aide. The pair, who were divorced, both passed away.

Their son rose to prominence at age 15 after joining the teen vocal group New Kids on the Block alongside his younger brother, Mark Wahlberg.

Donnie's Wife Pays Touching Tribute on His Birthday

Donnie recently turned 54, and his wife Jenny McCarthy paid tribute to him on her Instagram alongside a video montage of the actor. She wrote on the clip, "Happy birthday to the love of my life" written on it, and captioned the post:

“[…] I absolutely adore you and wish you the best happy birthday as we sail away into our younger years together. I love you."

The homage reportedly comes after almost a year Donnie surprised the actress with another vow renewal ceremony on their eighth wedding ceremony.

McCarthy gushed about the event on social media in 2022 alongside a carousel of the happy couple, including a video wherein she walks into the surprise ceremony.

The renowned television personality and model admitted that she falls more in love with her spouse yearly as he continues to surprise her.

She thanked Donnie for prioritizing their love and making each day they spend together "feel like the most ultimate adventure" while expressing her love for him and calling him her "soulmate."

Meanwhile, her beloved husband also posted about the ceremony on Instagram, revealing some people have asked why they renew their vows yearly. Donnie stated those are the same people who also ask him how he keeps his union fresh.

The lovebirds first met during a joint appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" in 2012. The following year, he appeared on her VH1 talk show, "The Jenny McCarthy Show," in March 2013.

A few months later, they were officially a couple. McCarthy revealed in a September 2013 interview that she had been single for a year. The TV host explained that although she was not sure if she was ready for another relationship, she gave Donnie her numbers either way.

The "Blue Bloods" star proposed to her in April 2014, and they wed on August 31 of that year. Their wedding was featured on the A&E reality show, "Donnie Loves Jenny."

In a September 2021 interview, McCarthy candidly talked about the couple's marriage. "We still FaceTime-sleep together every night that we're not together," she revealed.

Both McCarthy and Donnie have been married twice. Although they do not have kids together, they have children from previous marriages. He has two sons, Xavier and Elijah, and she has a son named Evan, who is autistic.

"The Masked Singer" judge revealed in a December 2020 interview that she had had a conversation with her child and asked him about his relationship with his stepfather Donnie.

The mother of one divulged Evan told her, "You know, I finally feel safe," which warmed her heart. McCarthy admitted that she never thought she would eventually find someone like a record producer.

The movie star feels she has done a good job in finding the perfect stepdad for her son and a husband for herself. In a 2018 interview, McCarthy expressed that being a single mother before meeting Donnie and not finding the right person "was one of my biggest fears."

She revealed during her appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" that she even asked Donnie to attend couples therapy at the beginning of their romance, even though they had no problems.
