Bride Receives Gift from Groom on Wedding Day, Realizes It’s Not Meant for Her upon Opening It

For one woman, her husband took her by surprise. While it's common for the bride and groom to give each other presents at one point during the day, what the groom gave her wasn't what she was expecting.

She would soon learn that the gift was intended for someone else – someone who didn't even exist yet.

Her groom gave her a gift in the form of a note and a small box. Initially, the woman was touched that her husband got her something. However, when she opened the gift, she realized it wasn't for her, and her heart dropped.

The Recipient was Unexpectedly Not the Bride

The bride, Kayla Rae, shared a touching clip on her TikTok channel featuring the moment she opened her groom's wedding gift to her. She shared that her husband Terry gave her the most thoughtful gift.

When she opened the box, she found a bracelet and a note. She would soon learn that the gift was intended for someone else – someone who didn't even exist yet. It was a gift for their first child.

Kayla read the note out loud as she tried to fight back her tears. Her groom's letter was addressed to their future child and he was telling that child that the bracelet was something that would last years and one that their child could wear on her own wedding day.

It Was a Gift Meant to Become a Family Heirloom

It's unclear whether Kayla was pregnant with their child on their wedding day. However, Terry spoke as if their child was already with them.

"Right now, we don't know what you look like, what your smile looks like – if you're funny like your dad or witty like your mom – but we do know at this point today that you are loved because we had you as an extension of our love," her sweet groom wrote.

At the end of the letter, Terry asked their unborn child to enjoy the ride, because it was bound to be a good one. When she finished reading, Kayla felt all the emotions. She couldn't help herself from crying, and her eyes filled with tears. She commended her husband for the sweet gift. She added how great of a job he did.

People on the internet shared the same reaction. Others joked that they would have to retouch their makeup after reading such a sweet note because their tears would've ruined it.

Admittedly, Kayla wasn't prepared to receive such a surprise during her wedding day. However, her husband Terry's gesture is a testament to how ready he is to build a life with her and their future children.

One TikTok user noted how touching the gesture was. "This is the most amazingly beautiful picture of true love for you and for your family's love story," she said.
