During Nathan's upbringing, his parents did not have cable television. Instead, they had only a few VHS tapes that his grandfather had recorded, one of which included the family musical film, "Peter Pan," which starred Bobby Driscoll. These limited but cherished VHS tapes were a part of Nathan's childhood entertainment.

Nathan, passionate about comedy, would borrow his mother's dictaphone, which she used for work to record opening standup routines. As a kid, Nathan loved performing; he acted in musical theater in school and wrote scripts with his friends.
