White Tragically Lost Her Fiancé & Was Once Divorced
White has been through ups and downs in her love life. She was once engaged to soap opera actor John Gibson, who starred in "The Young and the Restless." Sadly, Gibson died in a plane crash in 1986 at age 37.
The former model admitted in a 2017 interview that the experience was "devastating." What got her through the ordeal was the fan mail she received during that time because she realized she was not alone.

Following the tragedy, White married restaurateur George Santo Pietro in December 1990. He supported the blonde beauty through a difficult period as she endured a public miscarriage in 1992.
The pair later welcomed two children, a son and a daughter. However, following 11 years of marriage, they decided to part ways as they reportedly had different interests and divorced in 2002. But the former couple remained cordial for the sake of their offspring.
After the divorce, White tried her luck at love again and announced that she was engaged to California businessman Michael Kaye the same year she and Pietro finalized their divorce. Although Kaye was considered the perfect fit for White because he was a "low-key" and a "homebody" like her, their engagement was short-lived as they split a little more than a year later.
Inside White's Relationship with Donaldson
As for White's current relationship with Donaldson, it has lasted for over a decade. In a recent interview, the game show hostess expressed that she feels secure in their relationship:
"[...] We've been together 12 years, and I feel like we are married. […] I know that he's the one. He knows I'm the one."
White divulged that her romance with the real estate developer lasted this long because he was the "male version" of her, adding, "We really are very similar. We get along so well. He's easy."
As for what she believes is the key to a successful relationship, the South Carolina native explained that it is crucial for an individual to not settle for nothing less than a partner who embraces and appreciates one for who they are. She stressed that relationship dynamics should be effortless.
White recalled her first meeting with Donaldson in an October 2017 interview. They met for the first time in 2012 as he came with a mutual friend to her place for a barbecue.
She said in a 2019 interview that she found him instantly attractive, and they ended up talking for hours that evening, adding, "It just works. […] There is no drama." The Hollywood star has described the contractor as a kind-hearted person who has empathy and allows her to be herself.
When commenting on her life in the present, White once said in 2017, "Today I am happy just the way things are," adding that fans do not know she leads a modest life. She noted that she spends her days without makeup and loves the outdoors.
White has been a co-host on the beloved game show "Wheel of Fortune," alongside the now-retired Pat Sajak for decades. The duo even sparked romance rumors when he joked about marrying her.
