Celine Dion is a phenomenal singer and songwriter. She had to take a break from her career in 2022 after she was diagnosed with a rare and incurable neurological condition called Moersch-Woltman syndrome or Stiff Person Syndrome.
The syndrome causes debilitating muscle spasms that affect the central nervous system, mainly the brain and spinal cord. The condition can make someone unable to take care of themselves. A patient can be wheelchair-bound, disabled, or bedridden.
Celine announced on Instagram on December 8, 2022, that due to this condition, she had to reschedule all her shows planned for spring 2023 to 2024. However, she was grateful to have a diagnosis as she finally understood what was causing all the spasms she'd been having, which were affecting every part of her daily life.
"The Power of Love" singer said she had a team of doctors helping her get better and was working hard to regain her strength and get back to her fans. The singer's kids were also supporting her and taking care of her. Celine shares three kids, René-Charles, 22, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13, with her late husband René Angélil.
In August 2023, her sister Claudette Dion said Celine was doing everything to recover as she was a strong woman. She added that there was little people could do to support or alleviate her sister's pain except for the hope that researchers would find a remedy for the illness.
More fans said the singer looked healthy and had great mobility.

According to Claudette, Celine's sister, Linda, was taking care of her, and they spoke via phone. All Claudette wanted was for the singer to get enough rest as they hoped for a cure. Celine received a lot of love and support when she announced her diagnosis, and when she turned 55 on March 30, 2023, many fans and friends sent her birthday wishes.
The "I'm Alive" singer's 55th birthday was her first one since her diagnosis. Her "Love Again" co-star Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan wished her a happy birthday. Celine also shared an Instagram story on March 31, 2023, thanking her fans and friends for the giant wave of love they sent her and their birthday messages.
Celine was recently spotted for the first time in public after close to 4 years of absence. Many people were excited to see the legendary singer, and they commented about Celine's appearance.
