On October 28, 2023, the entertainment world mourned the tragic loss of Perry, who passed away at 54 in the comfort of his Los Angeles home. Following this heartbreaking event, Perry's co-star LeBlanc made his first public appearance after the passing of his dear friend on November 2, 2023.
The world-famous actor was seen driving in his black Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon in the afternoon. The television star wore black sunglasses and a black baseball cap. TMZ posted LeBlanc's picture on their Instagram page, and fans flooded the comments section as some recognized his cap and made it known.

Another social media user noticed the cap LeBlanc wore and penned, "Wearing Porsche hat," alongside a laughing face emoji. "I'm sorry, but lol at the Ferrari hat," said one person. Someone else wrote, "With the Porsche hat, lol." Meanwhile, another individual asked, "This is a joke because of the Porsche hat?"

LeBlanc played Joey Tribbiani in the hit '90s television sitcom, "Friends," who was best friends and roommates with Perry's character, Chandler Bing. The on-screen duo appeared in the much-beloved NBC show for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004.

LeBlanc wore a similar cap in one of the "Friends" episodes; however, he had worn the red version. It was during Season 6 Episode 5, titled "The One With Joey's Porsche," wherein he pretended to own a Porsche.
Two days after the news of Perry's death made headlines, LeBlanc and other castmates, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer, released a joint statement saying they would take some time to mourn and process his death, adding:
"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family."
The Hollywood stars further stated that they would comment on their friend's demise later while adding that in the meantime, their "thoughts" and their "love" are with Perry's family and friends, including those who adored him worldwide. The heartfelt message was signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, Schwimmer and LeBlanc.
LeBlanc, 56, revealed the dynamics between him and his co-stars in an August 2015 interview regarding their age difference. He referred to Aniston, 54, as his younger sister while referring to Cox, 59, and Kudrow, 60, as his older sisters.
In addition, the three-time Emmy Award nominee said Schwimmer is more like his older brother while "Matthew's like my little brother. […] That's how it all broke down," LeBlanc explained.
