Back in January 2021, Tommy revealed that Wendy had not been in communication with him and the family for a while. The TV personality's brother posted a video on his YouTube channel and claimed that Wendy did not come to their mother's funeral and chose to have lunch with her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, instead.

Tommy asked Wendy why she would not tell their father that she was in town. He also added that their father deserved to know what was happening in her life. "And you told us, you told daddy, that you had to race back to New York to handle business. You were only going to be in town for the viewing. We didn't even know. He didn't even know," he reiterated.

Tommy continued to emphasize that Wendy lied about being in town. He said Wendy told her family that she needed to take care of business in New York when she was actually in town with her ex-husband and son.

Shortly after, Wendy responded to her brother's allegations on her show, stating that she did attend her mother's funeral. The talk show host confessed that her brother was trying to paint a negative image of her and revealed some of the other things that happened at the funeral. She said;

"Tommy, you know I was at mommy's service. And you know she looked beautiful in her casket. And you know that you fist-fought a loving member of our family, half your age.... a blood relative everyone, not my son."

She said her brother fought with a family member over the open casket of their mother and he had to be blocked by other men because it got close to the casket opening, which would have been a "catastrophe." "You should know better at 53," she added.

Wendy addressed her brother, expressing how she did not believe the kind person he was and that she had been seeing some of the things he was insinuating about her in her comments section. "You better stop talking the way you're talking because now it's dripping into my comment page.' she cautioned him. She said she also saw a lot of painful comments from people warning her against her own brother.

Following Wendy's response, Tommy responded in the comments section of The Shade Room, clarifying that Wendy only attended "the wake, NOT the funeral."

Wendy was also allegedly looking to start new projects in LA, one of them being a podcast, which had a lot of uncertainty behind it. Some sources had said it had been canceled, but Wendy's publicist reportedly argued otherwise.

The podcast still has an official website. Wendy spoke about the new venture in November 2022 and teased that it would start in a few weeks. But besides the podcast, close sources claimed she had several projects in the pipeline.
