Rhea Perlman & Danny DeVito’s Daughter Is the ‘Perfect Blend of Both Amazing Parents’: Rare Pics

Former Hollywood couple Rhea Perlman and Danny DeVito attended a public event recently with their eldest child, Lucy DeVito. This comes a few years after the pair separated.

Danny and Rhea share three adult children. In addition to their first child, Lucy, they are parents to daughter Grace and son Jacob.

On November 2, 2023, Danny, 78, Rhea, 75, and Lucy, 40, went out on a rare outing for the premiere of the father and daughter duo's new Broadway play, "I Need That," at American Airlines Theatre in New York City.

The family patriarch wore a black suit with a blue shirt paired with black shoes. As for his daughter Lucy, she donned a black and white sleeveless dress with matching heels and accessorized with silver earrings.

Meanwhile, the family matriarch, Rhea, opted for a red and black silk top with a black sweater for the occasion. She, Danny, and their daughter, leaned in for photos together. Danny stood between the two ladies as they all posed facing the camera.

Fans commented on the trio's snapshots at the opening night after party for the play, and several people mentioned that Lucy looked like both her famous parents.

"His daughter is the perfect blend of both amazing parents," wrote one online user. Another agreed, “[…] His kid looks like him (body) face (mom)," while a third user penned, "She looks just like him & her mother."

Someone else said, "Didn't know he had a kid. She's pretty." "She's lovely," added one other person, while another commented, "They seem like a nice, down-to-earth family."

Lucy followed in her parents' footsteps by pursuing acting. She has starred in several films and TV shows, including appearing alongside her iconic father in the 2016 movie, "The Comedian."

Danny & Rhea Are Separated

Danny and the mother of his kids started dating in 1971 after meeting at an off-Broadway play called "The Shrinking Bride." Rhea once revealed that she made the first move on the actor, and the two started dating shortly after and even moved in together.

They later starred alongside each other in the classic television show "Taxi," wherein they played love interests and eventually got hitched in real life in January 1982.

However, after 30 years of marriage and over 40 years together, Danny and Rhea decided to split and announced it in October 2012. However, they reconciled in March 2013.

Still, the movie stars parted ways again several years later in March 2017. A year later, in a March 2018 interview, the actress commented on her relationship with Danny, saying:

"We've been together a very long time, so there's a lot of love and history. [...] So why [ruin] that with the yucky things that come with a divorce?"

A year later, in March 2019, Danny also spoke candidly on the duo's dynamics as a separated pair who are still legally married. The "Twins" star divulged:

"We're friends. We're happy. Everybody's happy."

Danny's estranged wife also shared the same sentiments in another interview that same year. She was asked how often they communicate, and she said, "A lot," adding they had even talked that same day of the interview.

Rhea admitted that her relationship with Danny was in a much better place than the last years of their marriage because all the tension between them had dissipated. The mother of three acknowledged that things were difficult amid their split, especially the transition with their offspring. But that everyone now got along.

The "Cheers" star said in an April 2022 interview that she cherishes the relationship she has with her children more than anything, adding that if it was broken, she would be "beside" herself.

Asked why she and the father of her kids are not divorced, Rhea said, "What for?" adding they live in separate homes but continue to see each other. The four-time Emmy Award winner explained that they are all still a unit and continue to do things together as well as separately and that "it’s probably worked out for the best."
