Vanessa Bryant and her late husband, Kobe Bryant were a power couple. The couple shared four kids: Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri. Vanessa and Kobe were married for almost 19 years before the basketball star's sudden death.
Kobe died aged 41, along with his daughter Gianna, who was 13. Father and daughter passed away tragically alongside seven others when the helicopter they were in crashed in the hills of Calabasas.
Kobe, Gianna, and the others on the plane flew from John Wayne Airport in Orange County to his Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks for a basketball game when they died on January 27, 2020. Gianna, who was to play at the game, was following in his dad's footsteps to be a basketball player.
The proud father left behind his other three daughters and his loving wife. Vanessa and Kobe met in 1999 on the set of a music video that the former NBA player was making. Kobe was 20, and Vanessa was 17.
The NBA legend was pursuing a career in music, as much as his songs were never released, when he and Vanessa first crossed paths. Kobe was smitten with Vanessa and always wanted to know where she was as they shot his music video. She later wrote her number down for Kobe, and the next day, he called her. This marked the start of their romance.

Kobe and Gianna's death devastated Vanessa. The mom of four described Gianna as an "amazingly sweet and gentle soul" who would kiss her good night and good morning. She also mourned her "soulmate" and called Kobe "my sweet husband and the beautiful father of my children."
