On August 5, 2023, Steve Wallis shared a photo on his Instagram page, celebrating his sixth wedding anniversary with his now-late wife, Jessica Wallis. The image was a black-and-white close-up of the couple embracing one another.

Jessica smiled with her eyes closed as she nuzzled her husband, while he looked content as he held her close. Steve wore a simple dark-colored tux, while his wife donned a flattering strapless gown with minimal jewelry.

"Happy anniversary, my love (Beautiful wife). You didn't want to be public, but this pic already got leaked [from] somewhere, so I think it's [okay]. I miss you so much," he captioned the photo. Jessica may not have been a public figure, but like Steve, she, too, had built a successful career.

As per her obituary, Jessica attended Archbishop McDonald High School in Alberta, Canada. After receiving her diploma, she enrolled at the University of Alberta, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in music.

She then attained a certificate in pedagogical methods from the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Kecskemet, Hungary. She pursued another postgraduate degree at Concordia University of Edmonton.

Jessica was said to have been passionate about music. In addition to singing in choral groups, she played the flute and the piano. She taught music briefly in the Evergreen Catholic Separate School Division at Holy Spirit Catholic School and took a break from teaching afterward.

Jessica rarely appeared on camera with her husband but accompanied him on many of his camping trips. In August 2022, the content creator and businessman celebrated reaching one million subscribers during a live stream. Viewers didn't see Jessica, but she shyly assured them off-camera:

On August 25, 2022, Steve made a heartwrenching announcement to his subscribers, sharing that his wife had passed away a few days prior. "On Saturday, Beautiful Wife and I went to bed. On Sunday, only I woke up," he said (a seven-year-old boy died similarly a few months later).

He added that the only reason there even was a "Camping with Steve" was because of Jessica. "If I'd never met her, I'd still be living in a motor home trying to finish a documentary," he shared. Condolences immediately poured in from loving fans for Steve.

"It breaks my heart to know Beautiful Wife has passed away. A loving, kind, good-hearted [woman] gone so young. I am so deeply sorry," one fan wrote. Another shared a clip from one of Steve's lives where Jessica appeared in camera view without realizing it.
