Janet Jackson Welcomed 'Adorable' Son at 50 & Mocked for Being 'Too Old' – Pics of Boy Who Is 6
- Janet Jackson welcomed her son, Eissa Al Mana, at 50, with her ex-husband, Wissam Al Mana.
- Online users bashed her, saying she was too old and selfish to have her first child in her 50s.
- Now, Jackson gushes about the joys of motherhood and the adventures with her adorable 6-year-old son.
Janet Jackson and her ex-husband, Wissam Al Mana, met in 2010 and started dating soon after. The two got engaged in 2012, and a year later, they tied the knot in a private wedding. Al Mana's desire for privacy led to the two getting married secretly.

Speculations that Jackson was pregnant with her first child began circulating in April 2016 after she postponed her "Unbreakable World Tour." She shared in a video on X that she and her husband were focusing on their family.

The singer reportedly said she and her husband were planning for their family, and because of that, she had to delay her tour. In October 2016, Jackson confirmed she was pregnant when she shared a baby bump picture with People, saying, "We thank God for our blessing.
Jackson remained relatively quiet about her pregnancy, but a source close to the family said she was excited to be expecting her first child. The singer's older brother also spoke about his younger sister's journey to motherhood:
"She'll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict."

On January 3, 2017, Jackson's representative confirmed that the singer and Al Mana had welcomed their first child, a son named Eissa Al Mana. The singer had a stress-free delivery and was resting comfortably.
Jackson put her focus on motherhood and stepped back from her music career for a while.
Jackson gave birth to her first child at 50, which didn't sit well with many online users. One person said it was "selfish and irresponsible" for the singer to have a child in her 50s. "Yes it is too old for a baby," a second person agreed. Others said as a mother, the singer was wrong to have a baby so late because "after 40," a child is "more at risk."
However, Jackson's fans defended her. They said the comments were biased because no one bashed Mick Jagger when he had his eighth child at 73. A fan noted that Jackson got "her first child she has wanted for so long" and shouldn't be slammed for doing so.
Fans were also amazed by how gorgeous Jackson's son looked when she posted a picture of her and her son after they had just awakened from a nap. "That is so adorable❤," a fan wrote. "Too cute," commented another fan. Apart from calling Jackson and her son "Adorable 😍," one fan also said, "omg mom I'm gonna cry so beautiful 😭😭😭."
Jackson was so excited to be a mom; unfortunately, a few months after she gave birth, her marriage was hit hard. A source revealed that the singer and Al Mana were parting ways. Other sources claimed the breakup was amicable and that the two would continue co-parenting.

However, more sources revealed that Jackson and Al Mana were parting ways because her husband had become too controlling and uncompromising. He had been demanding that she tone down, cover her body more, reduce public appearances, and live according to strict Muslim customs.

Eventually, the singer had enough of all these and decided to leave Al Mana. After five years together, they broke up, and now Jackson is focused on being a mom to her son.
Janet Jackson on the Joys of Motherhood
Jackson is a lover of music. When she was suffering from depression, she found music to be the best medicine she could ingest. She revealed that the first music her son ever responded to was from Bruno Mars.
During and after giving birth to Eissa, she felt comforted and relaxed with Brazilian jazz. Bruno was breaking out big when her son started crawling, which delighted Eissa and his mom.

Eissa, who was gifted with drum sets, also loves music. Jackson said her son is "incredibly musical." At two, the singer's son chose to play the violin as he loved classical music. On Eissa's first day at school, he took the violin with him, but on the third day, he told Jackson, "Mama, I wanna take a cello to school." So, now, the young boy takes cello lessons and loves them.
Eissa also loves dancing, having seen his mother and his late uncle, Michael Jackson, dancing in videos. Jackson said her son loves the song "Smooth Criminal" and dancing to it. Aside from violin, drum sets, and cello, he also plays the piano and guitar.
Jackson's son can also sing. The singer revealed her son has good pitch and tone and can create a great melody. However, Jackson said she would be okay even if Eissa decides not to be in the entertainment industry.
Jackson had to learn to balance raising her son with going on tour. She confessed that sometimes she was tired due to insufficient sleep and the lack of a nanny. Still, she said her son is "The reason I breathe. He's my heart."
The singer explained that she loved raising her son without a nanny. Jackson put her focus on motherhood and stepped back from her music career for a while. In 2022, she said she would get back to making music soon, but she wasn't sure when as now:
"There's so much that I want to do—but my number one job is being a mama."
Jackson has been protective of her son, and he doesn't really know how famous his mom is. However, the singer said his friends are now making him aware of her popularity. The singer has also revealed other things about her son, including "The Incredibles" being his favorite Disney movie. Additionally, when Eissa was only two, he was gifted amazing presents from Paw Patrol.
Eissa turned six on January 3, 2023. The 57-year-old shared the exciting news on Instagram, wishing him a happy birthday. "I LUV you and I'm so proud of who you are!" she wrote. In May 2022, Jackson also proclaimed with so much love and joy how much she enjoyed being a mom to Eissa:
"He's great. I love it. I love it. I absolutely love it. I wish I had two more babies! I'm just thankful God gave me Eissa. I'm very fortunate."
Jackson relishes motherhood. Despite facing initial online criticism, she openly expresses the joy of parenting and cherishes the delightful adventures she shares with Eissa, who is just about to turn seven.
