"He's here! And he's healthy, super chill and an absolute cutie! God is so good," she wrote. Richards-Ross previously opened up about her challenging journey to conceive and her pregnancy, revealing that it was "very traumatic."

Before a successful pregnancy, Richards-Ross endured a "really bad miscarriage," where she needed to undergo a blood transfusion at a hospital. "It was very, very, very scary," she recalled.

It was also an emotionally exhausting experience. To be excited and start a new journey as a mother, only to be taken away instantly. Her firstborn was just as devastated after being excited to become an older brother.

"We had to tell him we had lost the baby, which was the hardest part. He fell to his knees, and he was crying. That was really, really hard," she said.

The former Olympic star struggled to talk about it for a while and felt reluctant to bear another child. However, experiencing a miscarriage also made Richards-Ross realize how much motherhood meant to her and how much she wanted to become a mother again.

A month later, she became pregnant again. Richards-Ross's due date was supposedly December 25, but her Christmas gift came a little early. Before giving birth, her supportive husband, Aaron Ross, shared a lengthy prayer through Instagram, asking the Lord for a safe delivery and good health for his wife and child.

Many women have been more comfortable talking about their miscarriages publicly, including fellow Olympic icon Tara Lipinski, who experienced four miscarriages in five years. Fortunately, she was able to give birth to a beautiful baby.
