Bride Shopping for Wedding Dress Has 'Blood Leave' Her Body When She Wanted to Pay
- A TikTok user shared an unusual experience she had at a bridal store.
- She revealed that she was asked for a tip and thought it was weird for anyone to ask her to leave a tip while shopping for a wedding dress.
- So, she asked other TikTok users for their opinions on tipping, and people revealed the weirdest places where they were asked for tips.
Ina Josipović, a TikTok user with the username inajosipovic, shared a video asking her followers their opinion on "tipping culture." This was after she was asked for a tip when she least expected it.

The TikToker explained that she was out shopping for her wedding dress, which she was fortunate to have found at the first shop she visited. When it was time to pay for the dress, she was shocked when she was given the iPad to process her payment and was asked for a tip.
The bride-to-be explained that she understood that there were certain places where tipping was expected, but she never thought she would be asked to tip at a bridal store.

When the cashier asked her for the compensation, she just stood there in disbelief, "When I tell you I full-on froze, I just… I stood there, and I think they saw the blood leave my body. I did not expect to have to tip buying a wedding dress," reiterated the woman.
What she found even more peculiar about the request was that the store was empty, with just her best friend, the two stylists, and the store owner. So, while standing at the payment counter, the TikTok user turned to her best friend, who had recently bought a wedding dress at a different store, and asked her if she had been asked to pay a tip when she purchased her dress.

The woman asked in another language, and her best friend was also as puzzled as she was because she was not asked for any extra compensation. The woman realized that tipping at bridal stores might not be something that is done.
So, as the woman stood there trying to calculate the appropriate amount to pay while also keeping in mind the price of her wedding dress, she realized that 10% would cost a few hundred dollars, which would add to the budget of her dress.
The TikToker was not prepared to part with that much money because as much as she appreciated having the stylist bring out dresses for her, she felt it was the company's responsibility to pay the stylist a commission.

The TikToker also reflected on her own experience when she worked in retail and said she would get paid her commission every time she sold clothes but never asked customers to tip her.
The woman contemplated tipping a custom amount of about $50 but thought it would be embarrassing because it would not even be a fraction of the expected amount. So she asked other TikTokers about their opinions on tipping and if they had been asked to tip at a wedding dress store.
The commenters were surprised. Someone said they had previously worked at a bridal store, and tipping was not customary. The user also said that after opening their own company, they discovered that you could turn off the tip feature on the software. While another person asked, "Don't they get commission?"

Other commenters shared their experiences of weird places where they were asked for tips. One person said they were asked after they self-severed themselves frozen yogurt. Another person said the question came after getting a pregnancy ultrasound.
More TikTok users revealed they were not afraid to press the "no tip" option, while others added that they only tipped at restaurants or hair and nail salons.

Commenters believed that the tipping culture in the US was getting out of hand and were just as shocked as the bride-to-be, but even more interesting was the weird places people had been asked for tips.
