'I'm Old': Andie MacDowell Speaks Out about Her Aging Body at 65

Andie MacDowell spoke about her aging body at 65 years old a few days ago. The actress, gracefully embracing getting older, also addressed the revealing scene she filmed for her series' new season.

Hollywood star Andie MacDowell recently sat down for an interview in which she had a candid conversation about aging related to her physicality. Far from considering getting older a bad thing, MacDowell embraces the natural changes that come with the process.

She said that the term (old) used to describe one who has reached their latter years in life doesn't negatively affect her. However, she made it clear that while she embraces getting older, she is aware of the overwhelming negative connotations surrounding aging in society, especially regarding women.

Nonetheless, MacDowell does not allow herself to be discouraged. She said: "I say it to people all the time, 'I'm old,' and they'll go, 'No, you're not,' and I go, 'Yes, I am.'" The "Groundhog Day" talent has done her best to reconceptualize the narrative and meaning of aging in the entertainment industry. One of the ways she does so is by not shying away from showing off her 65-year-old body.

In an upcoming "The Way Home" season, MacDowell's character will be half-naked as she indulges in a skinny dip. Interestingly, the actress said she was offered a stunt double to do the scene but insisted on doing it herself.

Of the scene and how she felt regarding her body, MacDowell divulged: "I didn't diet or anything. I didn't worry about my body. It's like, at a certain point, you're so tired of having to think about those things."

Another physical feature MacDowell refers to when she speaks about growing tired of worrying about is her hair. The L'Oréal Paris ambassador has been known to wear her luscious gray curls on full display at industry events and in public sightings. Last year, she discussed her decision to go gray and disclosed, "I knew instinctually that this was something that I wanted to do..."

Andie MacDowell was grateful to the public and the French beauty brand for embracing her decision to let her hair go gray. The actress also said that she believes many people agree that her silver hair suits her well.
