Jim Carrey Grows Long Hair after Quitting Limelight – His New Look On 62nd Birthday Confuses Some Fans
Jim Carrey has grown his hair long and enjoys a "quiet life" after stepping back out of Hollywood. His new look on his 62nd birthday has confused some fans, with some thinking he was someone else.
Revered Hollywood legend Jim Carrey celebrated his 62nd birthday yesterday. Carrey commemorated the special day with various friends and entertainers in the industry, including Adam Sandler and David Spade.
In the photos, Carrey, who has removed himself from the spotlight of Tinseltown, was seen rocking long hair, and his appearance stirred mixed reactions from some people.
One social media user questioned: "Is that Jim, or is it the lady that looks like Jim?? 🤔" An Instagrammer asked: "Was this a retirement thing for him?" Another person made a joke about their childhood and said they were "getting old" while referring to the pictures of Carrey. Someone else was amazed at how much Carrey and his fellow actor pals have changed, citing, "Omg, they're getting older😭😭."

In 2022, the "Bruce Almighty" star sat down for an interview to discuss his then-new movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 2." During the interview, the conversation veered toward Carrey's personal life.
The interviewer asked about Carrey's grandson and whether or not he likes the "Sonic the Hedgehog" franchise, to which the actor responded: "He loves it [...] I mean, it's ridiculous [...] He makes fun of me. He talks smack about me all the time."

After the interviewer confirmed that the acting icon was serious, Carrey clarified that his decision would depend on whether or not he would be met with a script of societal importance that piques his creative interests. He divulged: "I'm taking a break, yeah [...] I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life."

Another reason Jim Carrey planned on retiring is his ability to recognize that he has had enough and accomplished enough as an actor. His self-awareness also enables him to see that he is enough to be the person he is without all the glitz and glam of Hollywood.
