When Sadie was three weeks old, Christina appeared on "The Ellen Show" and spoke of her labor process and the moment she held her daughter in her arms. The actress was so overcome with emotion that she laid her baby on her chest. She didn't mind that the medical professionals could see her double mastectomy scars. "It was the best thing that's ever happened to me," she gushed.

Christina also told People that when she first held Sadie, she felt her heart open up for the first time and wrap itself around her daughter. "It was profound. And I'm more in love with her every minute of the day," she admitted.
At home, the actress said she wanted to be "the ultimate burper and diaper-changer." Sometimes, she'd feel like she wasn't burping her correctly, but when she'd hear a belch come out Sadie, she'd feel like they'd accomplished the goal together.
Christina also said that motherhood changed her. When she was diagnosed with cancer and beat it, she recalled saying the name of the illness more than she'd ever had to talk about a word in her whole life.
After a while, the actress told herself there had to be something else about her other than cancer. With Sadie in her life, the new word she could focus on was mom. "Yeah, now I'm Mom. She's healed me in so many ways. She's just made my life so much better. She's opened my whole soul," she divulged.

In 2021, Christina was devastated when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). She explained that with MS, one never has a good day. The things she had taken for granted, including taking a shower without falling and slipping and her legs buckling, had become difficult.
MS also impacted how she could take care of Sadie. "I can bring up food to my kid. Up, never down," she lamented. Christina can no longer go down the stairs, drive long-distance, or carry things around.
Taking care of her daughter is a priority for Christina. In 2015, the actress shared a rare picture of her daughter on her husband's shoulder as they celebrated pride. She wrote that she usually doesn't post Sadie, but her photo holding a pride flag in celebration needed to be shared.
The Emmy-award-winning actress also never told her daughter that she is famous. Sadie only found out when a friend at school said to her that her mother was well known. Even while picking up Sadie from school, Christina Applegate would dress shabbily so that she could not attract people's attention.

Sadie also has her eyes set on Hollywood, but her mother has a strict rule for her: If she wants to be an actress, she can study acting until she is 18, and after that, if she feels like getting into that industry, then that's her decision. "Under my roof, you train and become the best of you that you can be," she added.

The actress wants Sadie to be educated because the chances of being successful in the entertainment industry are minimal. However, Sadie is already entertaining, and according to Christina, she is a goofball with a lot of accents in her repertoire. The 12-year-old loves piano and wants to be a singer.

The actress also gushed that Sadie is "very proud of her mom." When she's on TikTok, she sends the actress GIFS, videos, and memes of her. Some of the movies Christina has starred in that her daughter has watched are "Dead to Me," "Anchorman," and "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead."

Still, it breaks her heart that there's a possibility of Sadie getting cancer. The actress loves her daughter more than she'd ever known was humanly possible. Having Sadie right-sized all her problems, and when she isn't with her, she feels like she's missing a limb. "It's a spiritual thing. I really love her," she confessed.

"The most important person in this world is my daughter," she revealed. "You are so much more than even you know. You are so beautiful and kind and loving and smart and interesting, and I am blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school," the actress continued. She called Sadie her everything and thanked her for standing beside her as she battles MS.
Christina also recently revealed that she is immunocompromised, so she has a friend who lives with her during the week and takes care of her and Sadie. On the weekend, a caretaker comes over, but generally, the actress loves her home to be as quiet and as mellow as possible.

The suit was gifted to Martyn in the '90s, and Sadie put it on. Mother and daughter also went for matching boots, with Sadie only wearing one having fractured her ankle.

In February 2023, mother and daughter were also at the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Christina, who in 2014 was spotted wearing a pendant with her daughter's name, thought this would be her last award ceremony to attend. Sadie held her mother's hand as they walked as much as she had a walking stick.

Christina doesn't believe she has it in herself to be in productions in the future, as she can't imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and being on set for 12 to 14 hours. Her focus now is to do voice-overs and make sure that Sadie Grace LeNoble is well-fed and homed. She intends to be with her family, take care of herself, and spend lots of time in bed bingeing all the reality television she has never watched.
