Loretta Lynn’s Son Ernest Ray Underwent ‘Critical Surgery’ — Family Asks for Prayers

Loretta Lynn's son underwent "critical surgery," and his family is asking the public for prayers. Ernest Ray Lynn's late mom considered him a "best friend."

A couple of hours ago, it was announced that Loretta Lynn's son, Ernest Ray Lynn, had to have an operation. A statement posted on the late singer's social media account (which is still active) stipulated that Ernest tragically experienced kidney failure, which necessitated the surgery.

The announcement was accompanied by an endearing picture of Ernest and his mom. In the image, Loretta and Ernest hold onto each other with a microphone in each of their hands.

"In moments like these we are reminded that all that really matters is faith and family. We would love to know you are praying with us for Ernie," the statement read in part.

Ernest's family's request concerning wanting people to pray for him was answered, as many who saw the post sent prayers their way. One fan said: "I'm praying for you, Ernest Ray. God bless you and keep you ❤️🙏." Another commented: "Sending prayers and love to Ernest Ray!"

Someone else mentioned: "Coming into agreement with everyone's prayers that all will go well with his surgery and he will have a speedy, full recovery 🙏🙏❤️."

Loretta and her beloved son shared a close bond when she was still alive. The doting mother would take many opportunities to boast about and gush over him, like when she shared beautiful pictures of Ernest and his wife, Crystal, on their anniversary.

Another instance saw Loretta share another collage of pictures, this time of her and Ernest when he had turned 69 in 2022. Her heartwarming caption stated, "A momma is pretty lucky when her baby boy turns out to be one of her best friends. I don't know how in the world you're 69 with such a young momma! Love you, son."

Sadly, Loretta passed away in October of the same year she made that post dedicated to her son. The country music icon was 90 years old when she died.

A statement made by the Lynn family stipulated: "Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home in her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills." In addition to the incredible legacy Loretta left behind, she also passed down her impressive vocal ability to Ernest.
