The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department disclosed that Bobbie Jean Carter's death resulted from "intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine," classifying it as accidental. The document detailed that Bobbie Jean was last seen by her roommate at approximately 6:30 a.m. on the day of her demise.

Found unresponsive on her bathroom floor a mere thirty minutes later, in a situation similar to her brother, Aaron Carter's death, Bobbie Jean was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where she entered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead by 8:02 a.m. The report also highlights Bobbie Jean's struggle with schizophrenia, a diagnosis which her mother, Jane Carter, confirmed.

Prescribed medications found in Bobbie Jean's system included propranolol, omeprazole, clindamycin, and quetiapin. Her passing follows the deaths of her siblings, Aaron in November 2022 and Leslie Carter in 2012. Authorities reported no signs of foul play or narcotics at the scene.
