Prince Harry is reportedly going to miss his son's godfather's wedding, where Prince William will be an usher. A royal biographer has revealed the "sad" reason why. Like the biographer, social media users have asserted their own opinions concerning the matter.

In heartwarming royal news, the Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, is set to tie the knot next month. He will be marrying his beloved partner, Olivia Henson, on June 7. However, this joyous news has been overshadowed by the fact that Prince Harry will not be in attendance at the wedding.

The Duke of Sussex, who shares a close relationship with Hugh, Prince Archie's godfather, is reportedly choosing to sit out the event because he doesn't want any drama. According to royal biographer Angela Levin, "Harry [...] says he doesn't want to make a fuss there and disturb everybody."

However, Angela thinks Prince Harry won't attend for a different reason. "I don't think he's had an invitation. They realised it would be very awkward for the royals to have him here, either for their own reasons or Harry said they don't want to come, but I think it's the former," divulged Angela.

On the flip side, Prince Harry's older brother will be in attendance at the wedding, not only as a guest but as an usher. Additionally, Meghan Markle will not attend and Princess Catherine is also expected not to be there. The public has weighed in on the matter, collectively expressing sorrow.

"That's sad. He should go anyways," commented a social media user on X while another expressed the same sentiment and added that the decision is "understandable." Conversely, others have taken to blaming Prince Harry's wife as the real reason why he won't go.

"I'm sure this was Meghan's decision not Harry's," claimed another X user. Similarly, someone else exclaimed, "She won't let him go! He isn't allowed to have friends!" Referencing Prince Harry, a Facebooker wrote, "Such a shame and spiteful and so childish."

Observers may blame Meghan for Prince Harry's decision not to go to Hugh's wedding, however, some may be quick to forget about another factor.

It's no secret that the Duke of Sussex's relationships with his royal family members have been tense, to say the least, especially where his brother, Prince William, is concerned. Thus, this may have had some bearing on his choice.

However, what is particularly interesting is that Prince William will be at Hugh's wedding even though the Grosvenor family and the royal family have been at odds in the past. Tension arose ahead of the wedding of Hugh's sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, years ago.

"With the wedding of their daughter in 2004, they wouldn't let Camilla sit next to Charles because she wasn't married to him," Angela revealed.

As a result of what had happened, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were extremely upset. They were so unhappy that they did not attend Lady Tamara and Edward van Cutsem's wedding. "They didn't speak to the family for many years," recalled Angela.

Nonetheless, it appears as though the relationship between Hugh and Prince William has endured, despite past familial drama.

Hugh, who is also the godfather of Prince George, has forged a strong bond with both Prince William and Prince Harry. The groom-to-be and his family have long supported the two princes, especially when their mother passed away.

Naturally, it is sad indeed that one of the brothers Hugh has been so close with won't be involved in one of the biggest days of his life. However, the show will go on at Chester Cathedral, where the wedding ceremony is set to take place.

Following the service, guests will migrate to a lavish reception at the 11,000-acre Grosvenor's estate close to Eaton Hall. A more intimate reception will take place the day after, specifically for close loved ones.

Though the details for both receptions remain under wraps, a news outlet shared that all the cuisine, floral arrangements, and products for the event will be either locally or regionally sourced where possible.

Reports state that Hugh desires his wedding to maintain as low a profile as possible. Unfortunately, as has been the case already, the event is predicted to gain a lot of attention, especially because of Prince Harry's absence.

Like Prince Harry, King Charles III will sit the wedding out, too, because of his cancer treatment and his plans to travel to France the day before the event.

As far as where Hugh stands on the fact that Prince Harry won't be at his wedding, most likely because of his strained relationship with Prince William, a friend of his spoke on his behalf. "He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realises it's unlikely to happen before the wedding," confirmed the friend.

Hugh's friend might have hit the nail on the head concerning the timeline of when the two princes might resolve their issues. After all, it was only over a week ago when Prince Harry was said to be visibly upset because his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps was handed over to his brother.

As reported by royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, "King Charles' announcement that Prince Harry is being stripped of his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Corps is a real kick in the teeth for the son who always felt marginalised."

He went on to expand that what added further insult to injury for Prince Harry is the fact that the role was passed over to someone whom he deems as the "cause of so many of his problems – his brother." The Duke of Sussex is said "to have been in tears when he heard" the news.

Apparently, while the senior royals were aware of the emotional damage they would be causing Prince Harry, they decided that given everything that's happened, Pandora's Box had already long been opened.

Continuing to speak on how the royal family feels about the situation, Richard added, "Harry needs to realize that when you betray the family, you don't just escape the things you hated doing as a working royal. You also lose the things you loved."

Adding more salt to the wound was the fact that Prince Harry loved being Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps as it was something he took great pride in. Richard asserted that the Duke was also heartbroken because when he was serving in the military, he was delighted to be recognized for his achievements as a man and not as a royal family member.

The title handover took place on May 13 at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop and with that, Prince Harry's remaining ties to his old life have been cut, according to the opinionated British royal expert.

However, the Duke of Sussex had reportedly fought back against being pushed out as he was seen wearing his KCVO Neck Order and Star, conferred to him by his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at St. Paul's Cathedral in early May.

He was at the cathedral to honor the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The esteemed medal is conferred to an individual to recognize their service to the monarchy and is awarded as part of the Royal Victorian Order.

Much like Richard made inferences about how Prince Harry reacted to his brother's new title, royal author Tom Quinn had asserted his beliefs concerning why the prince chose to wear his medal of honor.

"Wearing this was Harry's way of reminding his family that his grandmother valued his contribution [...] wearing the medal is Harry's way of saying 'You've taken everything else from me, but you can't take this!'" expressed Tom to a news outlet.
