Many netizens were not pleased with the look Jennifer Aniston chose for a solemn occasion she attended. They felt the star was a bit underdressed for the event where she was supporting her talent manager. The dress she wore was under $300.

On June 5, 2024, fans had something to talk about when Jennifer Aniston's pictures made the rounds on social media. The "Friends" actress had gone out to support her manager Aleen Keshishian, during the latter's mother's funeral.

The dress she wore to the ceremony was the same one she used as her first in an Instagram carousel she posted on April 27, 2024. The black dress with a white and yellow flower design sported a deep slit in the long skirt. The Reformation website has the same dress in a light shade of green for $278.

It's described as having a "back smocking, tie straps, sweetheart neckline," and a high side slit. It also has a back zipper and ruching details. For the funeral, the actress paired the dress with a light brown jersey. She accessorized with a necklace, hoop earrings, and dark sunglasses. The star appeared to be carrying something in her hand and a purse.

One publication shared the story on its Facebook account, noting how somber Aniston looked while on her way to attend the funeral. Several people responded to the post, with some criticizing her look.

One such person added angry emoticons and wrote, "Wearing a dress like that at a funeral is she sure let’s all look at me cover up and have some respect (sic)." Another reader supported the previous one, stating, "Not very appropriate dress for a funeral (sic)."

An upset netizen added, "It's a funeral, not a party!" However, one person came to Aniston's defense, sharing a teary-eyed emoticon and saying, "Wish the media would (sic) leave her alone she is grieving." While someone else saw no issues with the star's look, calling it "Appropriate."

On X, the same publication shared two images of the actress' look for the occasion, leading to more comments. An X user had this to say about it, "i think this dress not suitable to present a funeral , Jen can wear black and more close (sic)."

The netizen continued, "anyone must respect this sad event ,and wear something suitable." Using the same post, someone else appeared to be using sarcasm when they stated, "Nice dress for a funeral."

The event that the star attended was Cecile's wake, held in Burbank, California, at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral. Cecile passed away at age 90 from pneumonia on May 27, 2024, in Los Angeles.

Aleen and Aniston have been close for years. The talent manager has also worked with other stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Selena Gomez, and Laura Linney. Besides Aleen, Cecile also has another child in the entertainment industry, Alek Keshishian.

He's well-known for making Madonna's 1991 documentary "Truth or Dare." Alek also worked with Gomez, directing her documentary "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me" in 2022.

This year isn't the only recent time that Aniston has had to bury someone close to her. In November 2023, she joined other celebrities in bidding farewell to her former "Friends" co-star, Matthew Perry. He was found dead from an apparent drowning on October 28, 2023, at his Los Angeles home. He was 54.

The police revealed back then that first responders arrived at the scene after it was reported that someone had gone into cardiac arrest. The late actor's assistant was the one who discovered him in his jacuzzi, but he was unresponsive.

Reports said the assistant called 911. A day after the news of his death broke, Perry's family released a statement. In it, they shared how "heartbroken" they were "by the tragic loss." The late star was described as having brought lots of "joy to the world" as a friend and an actor.

Perry's loved ones also noted how his fans had meant a lot to him and that they appreciated the love they were given. Along with former "Friends" castmates David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and Courteney Cox, Aniston released a statement.

The group revealed how "utterly devastated" they were by the loss. They noted how they'd been more than co-stars as they were a family. The actress and her former colleagues shared how they were going to take some time to mourn and process what they described as an "unfathomable loss."

However, they promised to comment on Perry's death when they were able. But until then, their love and thoughts were with those people that the late actor loved, including his worldwide fans who adored him.

The late star's family and friends gathered for a private burial on November 3, 2023, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills to say goodbye to Perry. Hollywood Hills Memorial Park is opposite Warner Bros. Studios.

Ironically, the studio is the same place where the Emmy Award-winning hit 1990s sitcom was filmed for a decade. Cox, Aniston, Kudrow, and Schwimmer were photographed dressed in black as they arrived at the cemetery.

LeBlanc joined them later as they consoled each other after an hour-long ceremony at the church. According to a witness, Aniston was the first one of the group of friends to arrive at the funeral service. The ceremony concluded with a rendition of Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up."
