Having started wearing makeup at a young age, the "Cry Pretty" crooner felt that it gave her ample time to hone her skills. Still, she revealed that if she had a daughter, she would have encouraged her to wait a bit longer before diving into makeup.

But, for her, wearing makeup at a young age was a much-needed learning experience. Consequently, Underwood's beauty routine during tours has become precious "me" time. It's therapeutic for her to sit down with her makeup kit and do her makeup in silence amidst the busyness of tour life.

I don't want to walk by a mirror and feel like I haven't given some sort of effort. I just feel better when I have a little on," she confessed.
