Goldie Hawn, who effortlessly embraces aging and a non-traditional romantic life, has sparked a flurry of reactions among netizens with her disheveled look during a Greek island getaway, with one even questioning her "youthful" presence.

Goldie Hawn recently showcased a stylish look during her vacation in Skiathos, Greece with longtime partner Kurt Russell. She wore a black backless swimsuit with a printed scarf wrapped around her waist. She tied her messy blonde hair with a white clamp, allowing a few strands to fall across her face. Her relaxed look, however, was criticized.

One bewildered netizen who saw the 78-year-old actress's photo on social media remarked, "Eternally youthful?????" However, another countered, suggesting people let Hawn and Russell vacation in peace, saying, "Leave them alone."

Continuing her relaxed beach ensemble, Hawn completed her look with dark sunglasses and white strappy sandals. Russell sported black shorts, a grey baseball cap, and a long-sleeved dark blue shirt. He was also seen shirtless at one point.

More netizens aired their reactions online. A disappointed netizen criticized Russell's shirtless style, stating, "That's great! Now, please put on a shirt."

One naysayer suggested that Hawn and Russell should consider dressing more conservatively, commenting, "There comes a time when people should reconsider what they wear... some form of a cover-up would be appropriate here."

Another questioned whether the couple in the photos were actually the celebrity couple, noting, "That doesn't even look like them."

Amid the criticisms thrown at the longtime pair, some netizens came to Hawn and Russell's defense. A supportive fan expressed admiration for Hawn and Russell's youthful looks, writing, "I just love Goldie, she is my idol. I hope I look like that at her age rather than some of the Pete Burns look-alikes 👀 I still think he is hot too."

Another netizen brings some perspective about aging to the critics, remarking, "They look like an older couple, just like the rest of us."

Skiathos was the same vacation spot Hawn and Russell visited in 2022. During that trip, Hawn wore a black one-piece swimsuit and sunglasses, looking fantastic as she showed off her legs, arms, and chest.

Russell, who always found Hawn beautiful, wore black and white shorts and was shirtless while enjoying a speedboat ride with her. Despite Russell's admiration, Twitter users criticized the couple's appearance when vacation photos surfaced.

One of the vile comments Hawn and Russell received read, "They look like they should be in a nursing home. They both look really aged, and I do understand they're older, but [it] looks like they didn't age as well as the article seems to intend to make us believe."

Other several mean-spirited people wasted no time as they wrote, "No, not attractive. Look what happened to Goldie Hawn after she got her lips fattened. UGLY."

Hawn and Russell have paid no attention to negative comments as they were known for their fun and carefree attitude, which enabled them to focus on living their lives to the fullest. Hawn, in particular, embraced her happy-go-lucky personality fully.

In that same vein, she has been especially outspoken about not being fussed over getting older. Her attitude towards aging is considered a juxtaposition to the widely held societal expectation for women to constantly update their looks in order to appear younger.

Hawn's view on embracing age is rooted in the undeniable fact that it is a part of life. She once noted, "Getting older is a fact of life. By living mindfully, you understand that there are many transitions in life, [and] you just have to go through them. It's wonderful to know that you're aging because that means you're still on the planet, right?"

Hawn wants people to know that the perspective with which one looks at aging is imperative to how it then shapes your view of self as you age.

The "Overboard" star has made it perfectly clear on several occasions that she intends to allow her body to age naturally. On such an occasion, during an interview with Allure, Hawn revealed that she had, in fact, never even colored her hair to prevent it from graying.

She always realized that she marched to the beat of her own drum, especially being a woman in Hollywood. In another candid interview with Harper's Bazaar, Hawn disclosed she had realized that women working in Tinseltown have a shelf-life that undeniably dictates the longevity of one's career.

Of the whole ageism debate that tends to rear its ugly head from time to time regarding aging women in Hollywood, Hawn accepts the futility of fighting against the status quo.

As someone who describes herself as non-combative and not quick to anger, Hawn believes getting enraged by the age rhetoric in Hollywood is redundant and somewhat pointless.

She believes that as many times as the battle has tried to be fought, there has yet to be a solution, and she very much doubts there to be one in the end. This spawns her embracing nature toward aging.

Furthermore, Hawn's biggest fan, partner, Russell makes her feel loved and adored. The happy couple has been in love and committed to each other for 40 years, and still treat their relationship as though just first fell in love.

The duo first met on the set of the film "One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band." Russell was 15 and Hawn was 22. Having joined her son on set, Russell's mom had pointed to Hawn out of a group of girls who were auditioning for the movie. His mother had predicted that Hawn would get the role, and she did.

The first time Russell saw Hawn, he was instantly drawn to her. The "Escape From New York" actor described her as very good-looking. He recalled, "I thought she was awfully attractive. You couldn't miss her. She just had this energy about her."

For Hawn and Russell, their love transcends the traditional stamp of certified approval that tends to come with officiating a marriage. The lovebirds have been together for four decades now and have not tied the knot by choice.

Regardless of not being wed, the couple has created a close-knit family with the blending of their joint child, Wyatt Russell, and their children from their previous marriages - Kate and Oliver Hudson, and Boston Russell.

The adored couple stated that there's no official secret to staying together for as long as they have, and credit their unwavering desire for each other as the basis for their long-lasting love.

Kurt Russell is Hawn's incredibly affirmative partner. While speaking to People magazine a few years back, she shared some swooning details about how beautiful Russell makes her feel.

Hawn divulged, "The other night, we were going to go have dinner. He looks at me and goes, 'You're unbelievable.' He said, 'I cannot believe how [beautiful] you look.'"

Just as Hawn embraces graceful aging and enjoys her long-term relationship with Russell without feeling the need to marry, she is also open to returning to the big screen for the right role. She has expressed interest in a Marvel movie with a "wild, crazy character" or a sequel to "First Wives Club."

She also looks forward to another collaboration with Russell, especially reprising her role as Mrs. Claus. Despite these aspirations, she is content with her current life. "We all have dreams but it’s how we fulfill them," she said.
