A newly released video from the ICE agent's perspective has shed light on the tense moments leading up to a deadly shooting in Minneapolis, where a woman was fatally wounded.

The video, shared by Alpha News on X, shows part of a confrontation between ICE agents and a civilian vehicle in south Minneapolis. According to reports, agents were conducting enforcement activity in the area when they approached a dark-colored SUV. What began as a verbal exchange escalated rapidly, ending with an ICE agent firing his weapon.

The footage — first shared on X by Alpha News and described as being from the agent’s own perspective — captures a tense stand-off on a quiet residential street before anything deadly happens. In the short clip, a woman, later identified as Renee Good, is parked in the SUV as an ICE agent circles her vehicle, phone in hand, documenting the encounter.

At one point, Good can be heard speaking calmly:

“That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.”

Her wife, Becca, is filming nearby and chimes in with jokes about license plates, trying to diffuse the moment. It’s not what most viewers expect to hear before chaos explodes.

But just seconds later, an agent — later identified as Jonathan Ross — issues a command:

“Get out of the car.”

From there, the video captures Good briefly reversing and then beginning to move forward. Almost instantly, gunshots ring out. The footage cuts off shortly after, but a derogatory slur is heard in the background.

According to KARE 11, multiple videos posted online show the moments before and after the shooting. In some clips, the SUV can be seen moving away from the scene before eventually stopping several blocks later. Authorities later confirmed that the woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

ICE officials said the agent involved believed his life was in danger, claiming the vehicle was used as a threat. Federal authorities stated that the agent discharged his firearm in self-defense during what they described as a rapidly evolving and dangerous situation.

However, eyewitness accounts paint a more complicated picture. One witness told KARE 11 that the woman did not appear aggressive and that the encounter escalated within seconds. Another witness said the scene felt “confusing” and “out of control,” adding that it was difficult to understand why deadly force was used so quickly.

The incident immediately sparked anger in the community, with residents questioning ICE’s presence and tactics in Minneapolis. Protests and gatherings formed shortly after, as demonstrators demanded transparency and accountability from federal authorities.

Tensions grew further when it was revealed that federal officials were limiting the involvement of state investigators. According to AP News, Minnesota authorities requested access to evidence and participation in the investigation, but federal agencies asserted jurisdiction over the case. This move drew criticism from state and local leaders, who argued that an independent review was necessary.

According to Fox 9, the ICE agent involved in the shooting was later identified, and federal officials reiterated that the incident remained under investigation. The agency stated that the agent has been placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure following officer-involved shootings.

The New York Times reported that the case has drawn national attention, highlighting broader concerns about federal immigration enforcement operations and their impact on local communities. Legal experts cited by the outlet noted that the investigation could take months, particularly given the jurisdictional complexities involved.
