He expressed his grief in a tribute, sharing that he has been overwhelmed with sadness since losing Codi Dreaux. He also conveyed his belief that the child is now at peace and affirmed that his love for her will never fade.

Snoop Dogg also publicly acknowledged Codi's passing, sharing a photo of himself with his daughter Cori and two other family members. He accompanied the image with a simple caption, "💖🙏🏾."

The 26-year-old businesswoman later disclosed that her newborn was placed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where babies born too early receive specialized care. She also posted a photo to her Stories showing herself undergoing a C-section, noting that the procedure had gone well.

In additional posts, Cori explained that she initially sought medical attention, believing she was dealing with severe gas pains. However, she discovered that she was developing Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets (HELLP) syndrome. This is a serious and potentially life-threatening pregnancy complication if left untreated.

She added that delaying medical care by even a few days could have led to far more severe consequences, such as death. The Cleveland Clinic describes HELLP syndrome as a pregnancy-related condition that impacts the liver and blood system.

Cori's daughter remained in the hospital for several months after her birth and was finally discharged on January 6. Her mother shared the news, posting a picture of herself and Codi relaxing in bed and writing, "She's home. 🤍Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all. 🕊️✨."

An Unplanned Pregnancy amid Health Challenges

In December 2024, Cori revealed that she and Wayne were expecting their first child together. They shared the news after keeping the pregnancy private for three months. She later described the pregnancy as unplanned but deeply meaningful for the couple.

Cori Broadus also opened up about the added risks she faced, explaining that her lupus diagnosis placed her pregnancy in the high-risk category. It also left doctors extremely concerned about her health throughout the process.

Still, she had a positive spirit, "I'm just excited to love on my baby girl and make her feel like she's the prettiest in the world. My mom and dad were so excited, their baby girl is having a baby … My dad was hoping for a grandson, though," gushed Cori.

"I know God used this painful time in our families life, knowing I will use that to help those in need of that knowledge of GOD and SELF 🙏🏽💚. The pain of loosing a child you created in YOUR body is very traumatic feeling that never goes away [sic]," she penned.

Soraya emphasized that this loss guided her toward helping others and deepened her spiritual connection. She urged people to pay note to their holistic well-being. These include heart health, healthy relationships, positive family dynamics, breaking generational patterns, mindful eating, self-care, and supporting others mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Soraya shared that the experience reinforced the belief that life extends beyond material concerns, highlighting the role of faith and service to God and others. "I love you, Kai. I held you for 10 days in my arms, and you are an ANGEL whose messages I am still applying and receiving each day, thank you God for this innerstanding 🙏🏽👼," she concluded.
